Dixie Chicks Cancel Des Moines Concert

Des Moines, August 3, 2006 - First they were coming, now they have decided not to visit the Hawkeye state. Today the country music trio, Dixie Chicks announced they will not be performing at Wells Fargo Arena. The concert was slated for August 24th.

No reason was given for the cancellation, but the group released a statement that said "This is a year where we weren't sure what to expect. We were prepared for a lot of things as we figure out this new phase of our career. What we weren't prepared for, however, was the overly passionate audience response at all of the stops on the tour so far. We are truly at a loss for words to explain what that has meant to us. We hope that our fans who were looking forward to a stop that is no longer on the tour will be able to join us at a nearby arena this fall, and we are sorry for any confusion or inconvenience these changes have caused."

All credit and debit card purchases will automatically be credited back to the original card. Cash refunds will be available starting Monday.

Wells Fargo Arena is a new arena that seats about 17,000 for a concert. The article never mentions how many tickets they sold. 300 seats filled would probably look a little empty in a big arena.

This reads very well.

Democrats are pretty good at calling "losing" winning.

Comes with experience, I guess.

Maybe Murtha will be agreeable to pick up the tab for some of his fellow anti-American liberals...

"What we weren't prepared for, however, was the overly passionate audience response at all of the stops on the tour so far."

"Both audience members screamed and clapped loudly!"

translation "We are cancelling this show because we are too popular"

Doesn't pass the smell test.

Democrats are pretty good at calling "losing" winning.

Same for their buddies, the islamics. I've never seen such a pack of liars.

Must have been too many Reba and Toby fans in Des Moines...and not enough of the, you know, "Cool" ones who "get it" for the Ditsy Chicks.

It's not as easy to sell out a stinker show as it is to bulk purchase a new release to chart it as a "hit".

I will never forgive the Chicksey Dicks until they do a one month tour in Afghanistan and Iraq for our troops.

Until they do that, they are just non-entities, each of them, lower than a pigs ass and twice as smelly.
