The thing is, that I see no reason why one generalization is supposed to be justified as "interesting answer", whereas the other is supposed to be considered as "ridiculous".

My point, maybe a tad too oblique, was that you responded to rightwingcrazy's complaint that Fieldorf made a generalization (all Jews were communists) with another generalization (all Poles were anti-semites)

It was funny that's all...

To generalize is human. It takes wisdom, though, to recognize when it is justified, when it is unjustifiably harmful, etc. And it takes decency to refrain from generalizing when these things are recognized. The world is full of unwise and indecent people, I guess.

That being said, it's hard to accept Britain's claims to a statute of limitations on murder. This whole bigotry thing just muddies the issue.
