Although it is a boon for my profession, SOX is the stupidest waste of money short of a direct tax ever visited on Anerican business.
It is like an audit -- it is all about compliance and appearance. It has no teeth but big hands. A child of 10 could outwit a SOX audit.
SOX will NOT stop another Enron, trust me.

SOX will NOT stop another Enron, trust me. This is about exacting revenues (non-compliance penalties) and weilding power, not 'protecting' anyone.

Educate me here... exactly how much is SARBOX costing the average company and why is the cost of compliance such a drag on company finances ?
And why will compliance not do anything to stop the next ENRON ?
