Christian villages across southern Lebanon have been left largely untouched as Israel battles to destroy the Hezbollah infrastructure embedded in Shiite communities between the Israel-Lebanon border and the Litani River some 18 miles to the north.
That is due primarily to the Christian population's disdain for Hezbollah, and refusal to allow the terror group to operate from within its communities.
Not only do Lebanon's Christians and Druse by and large oppose Hezbollah, many who previously fought alongside the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) as part of the South Lebanon Army continue to foster strong pro-Israel sentiments.
Speaking to the AP, Hamoudi Zeineldine, a hotel worker from the village of Ein Qana, noted that it was Israel that constructed many of southern Lebanon's roads and provided jobs for thousands during its 18-year occupation.
One Druse villager, Majed Hamza, expressed a desire to see the current conflict escalate, saying he would take advantage of the situation to move "to Israel and...stay there."
Many others who once backed Israel are now reluctant to take sides, remembering their harsh treatment at the hands of Hezbollah when the IDF abruptly withdrew from southern Lebanon in May 2000.
The majority Christian population of Lebanon, of course, are Catholic Maronites and Martin Accad does not speak for them - despite CT's implication that Accad is the voice of Lebanese Christians.
I'm not sure how many Arab Baptists there are in Lebanon, but I doubt Accad speaks for that tiny community either.

Interesting that they can control Hezbullah's activities in their communities, and yet the Lebanese army can't seem to do the same thing.

I only wish the Vatican shared the sentiments of the chr*stians of southern Lebanon.
I noticed that too...Makes me wonder how they refused to allow Hezbollah in their communities, and why other Lebanese communities couldn't do the same if they wanted to.
Hezbollah does not have safe haven in Christian villages.....so they don't get bombed. Makes sense to me.

I've said it before I'll say it again, Allah is not the Judeo/Christian God, and anyone with a few neurons firing can tell you this.
In all the years of Palestinian/Israeli conflict, not 1, not a single Palestinian who committed a terrorist act against Jews and Israelis was a Christian, this being despite the fact that 25% of the Palestinians are Christian.
Make not mistake about it, Islam is fundamentally evil. I know not all Muslim's are evil, I believe most are good decent people.. unfortunately though, the "god" in their religion is indeed Satan who has pulled off his greatest ruse of all.. not that God does not exist, but that he (Satan) is God.
Most of these people are Catholic...A pity that the pope doesn't agree with them...
Because in the Islamic communities the Mullahs will order you ostracised, take all your belongings and have you stoned for not backing their "freedom fighters". Islam is evil.

The same way it's tough for Jamaican drugdealers to get an entry into a Russian neighborhood in Brooklyn.
Hezbollah members don't have relatives in those towns, those towns' leaders don't like Hezbollah trying to muscle in on their turf, and those towns additionally have plenty of Maronite veterans of the Lebanese Civil War who fought alongside IDF soldiers and who have zero love for Hezbollah.
For the Shi'ite towns it's harder to exclude Hezbollah, because every Shi'ite in Lebanon is probably realted by blood to someone in Hezbollah and it's almost a certainty that every local Shi'ite community leader has family ties to Hezbollah as well. And each town has veterans of the Lebanese Civil War who fought alongside Hezbollah.
