Interesting!
Again, I assumed that the Ford family pretty much called the shots in Memphis.
Surprising that Herenton could get elected w/o the blessing of the Corleone...I mean Ford family.

Bryant has a lot of support in east Tennessee Lots of folks in the Upper East got real sick, real fast of Bob's Mama on his commercials

I did it once in 2002 with Lamar! I have too much self-respect to do it again. The sleazy phony from Chattanooga will never get my vote again (and I voted for him 12 years ago, btw).

If you do a write in in the general it will just be giving Jr. a vote.

Corker ran as a strong conservative. Many question his conservative bona fides. I believe he will be as conservative as Frist. I see all these posts not too happy with Corker. In what way is he a conservative? I'd hate to see yet another Rino weaseling their way into Congress especially from such a conservative stronghold like Tennessee.
To: darkangel82
Do you have reason to believe that Corker would pull a Jeffords?
Seriously, is Corker that spineless and compass-less that he would drift off that easily?

I told you why I urged a vote for Schmidt over McEwen. And if you don't know why, if you're saying howdy to Governor Strickland in January, I think you'll figure it out.

Here is a link to the county by county results. Corker is winning almost everywhere, massively in the East, but winning Nashville with a plurality, and poaching some of West Tennessee. The election is very, very over.

I haven't lost hope yet. A lot of precincts have yet to be counted, and Corker is already beginning to slip.

Here in West Tenn. we know way too much about the Fords to take a chance. I would vote for the devil himself before I would not vote or write in.

Herenton is just as big a demogogue as the Fords, but he's politically smart enough to play ball (and endorse) Republicans when he believe it benefits him. IIRC, I believe he endorsed Lamar! in '02.

I voted for Ed Bryant because he is exactly what I want to see in thee U.S. Senate He ran a poor campaign but I still voted for him because he was the best conservative running..
I will vote for whomever emerges victorious in the GOP primary because to do otherwise is just as good as voting for Harold Ford, Jr.
Act smart and don't be foolish with your vote..
To: MplsSteve
Some of Corker's closest friends are huge, huge liberals. I know the family.
I wouldn't put it past Corker to switch parties if it meant some nice little prize. Can you really trust a man who worked for Sundquist?
To: Kuksool
Should Corker win, it will be a case of
hard work a boat load of cash paying off.
One year ago, 99% of Tennessee outide Hamilton County had never heard of Corker. Bryant should have been known, at least to the half awake.
He made a huge media buy, starting back in March. Slick as all get out.

Now I'm getting worried. Are Tennesseans that dumb, moving to the left, or could you possibly be wrong in your assessment of this Corker?
