These stills are from a BBC comedy called "Time Trumpet" (big hat tip - Steve J). The show features a satirical "Terrorism Awards" show with nominees including a "lone gunman" who shoots Tony Blair in the head as he sleeps with his wife; a 9/11-style video of terrorists crashing an airliner into the Houses of Parliament; and a Tel Aviv suicide bombing.

We have the video at Hot Air. Watch and listen as the audience laughs at the images. Also notice the two "presenters" in the satirical awards show.

This is an open invitation for the Jihadi A$$holes to attack Paliament.
In a perfect world, the Islamofascists would pass on Parliament, and aim for the BBC.
But why on Earth would they attack their ALLIES?!?
Michelle is a one woman intellectual truth squad. And she's kinda cute too.
They laughed it off in 1938 too...
It's always been a laughing matter for some people... either a laughing matter, or a matter that was not a laughing matter only because it prompted a US military response.
She doesn't feel the need to be "sophisticated" in her response to this kind of garbage.
You know, that's what I keep thinking, too. I was a tot during WWII, but I did learn history back when they actually taught history--and my parents made sure I understood what happened in WWII. This is almost like a rerun, with a different cast but reading the same script. The world community doesn't learn history's lessons well. In fact, right now, I'd give a big fat F (for failing) to the 'Rats, some of the rinos, most of Europe, and portions of Asia.
Oh honestly... I hardly think a 30 second segment in a 10PM BBC2 comedy show is going to inspire much in the way of terrorism- Nothing happened when the producers of the computer game "Act of War" made this viral for their advertising campaign- http://www.viralchart.com/media/clips/actofwar_uk.mov
British TV has a long and glorious history of close-to-the-bone satire, and it's generally pretty good stuff. Hopefully this will be a new Brass Eye (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brass_Eye)- Armando Iannuchi has a great comedy pedigree, his last show "In The Thick of it" was a worthy successor to "Yes Minister" but for the New Labour age. Definitely worth tracking down if you can.
So yeah, I'll be watching. The website's at http://www.timetrumpet.co.uk/ anyway- I particularly liked the "Political cartoon protest" clip.
On 9/11/01 - if you were an arab @sswipe.
How well was this received on your side of the pond, do you know?
Worse than you imagine. The British ratepayers are forced to subsidize these buffoons.
I think I'd have to agree that you'd need to see it in context. I'd also say it's a pretty safe bet that numerous terrorists have ALREADY thought about attacking Parliament. They don't need a three-second clip on a satire to inspire them.
No surprise, coming from the left. They want to see all civilized institutions destroyed.
I try to laugh and have a good sense of humor about things, but I cannot even think about laughing about 9/11. Just the thought of what those poor citizens suffered through before they perished in a horrible death is no laughing matter.
Sorry to be of little use on this one. I don't watch much TV.
The show has not yet been aired and it starts next week - thoughthere was apparently a 10 minute taster in July presumably to get the publicity juices flowing. It looks at today's news events from the vantage point of 30 years ahead with such celebrites as David Beckham and Charlotte Church -so I would guess it is 'pretty low brow'.
Ho hum,

Especially democracies.
The first time they rolled tape of that fat, ugly, yodeling Palestinian woman. Or when the Onion ran that story "Hijackers Surprised To Find Selves In Hell". You take your comedy where you can find it.
The 'Terrorist Awards' strikes me as being a little too close to home given the way the left/luvvies celebrate terrorism.
