Singer and actress Hilary Duff took the stage of Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, N.C. Tuesday night in a free concert for military families.
Duff, the multi-platinum recording artist and star of Disney's "Lizzie McGuire" and movies such as "A Cinderella Story," performed "Hilary Duff Rocks for the Troops" in Fayetteville, home of Fort Bragg.
Those in attendance were either in the military or have a military family member. Duff has previously made a block of tickets available for military families but decided this time to perform just for them.
"I think she understands, or at least wants to try to understand, the sacrifices soldiers and their families make," said Cynthia Ivins, who brought her two children, 13-year-old Morgan and 9-year-old Denise, to the concert.
Duff met with a select group of military families before the show, snapping pictures and shaking hands. More than 7,000 people attended the concert.

I think Duff is a beautiful young lady. I'd be happy to go to one of her concerts.

She is such a dork. Do military age people really like her?

She sure looks likable enough, and I'm actually beyond military age.
And my GF calls me a dork all the time so I'll take Hillary's company. :-))

I'm embarrassed to say I actually watched and enjoyed "A Cinderella Story." I'm not embarrassed. I love movies like that. They're perfect mother-daughter bonding events with my teenager and something we'll both have fond memories of sharing together.

Great story. I wonder if she was named after Sir Edmund. :)

Do military age people really like her?Well, she's 18, which places her right in the military age range of 18 - 21 for the new soldiers. Not the officers though.

It's a very nice gesture for Hilary to give a free concert. But from what I have heard of Hilary's music, she shouldn't charge anyone to listen to her sing. In fact, I would insist on being paid.
But that's just me.

The woman quoted brought her daughters. I would bet most of the 7000 in attendance were young teens.
