On Tuesday, August 1, 2006, the listed victim, Deputy Michael Callin, of the Orange County Sheriffs Office, was working a traffic detail on the Interstate 4 westbound ramp at the intersection of Kirkman Road in the city of Orlando, The victim was in full uniform and was in the area where marked Orange County Sheriffs Office motorcycles were parked. The victim spotted a speeding white1996 Honda Civic and stepped into the right traffic lane to stop the car. The victim raised his hand to have the car stop, but the car accelerated and struck the victim's legs, throwing the victim over the right side of the car. The victim, who received severe life-threatening injuries from the impact, was transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition.

After striking the victim, the Honda continued westbound to the intersection of the Interstate 4 westbound ramp and Hollywood Way. It then left the roadway and ran into a fence where it stopped. The driver and two of the passengers ran from the Honda toward the Universal Studios property. Another passenger, witness number 7, got out of the car but did not runfrom the scene. He was detained by witness 2, who had stopped in the area to ask for directions.

Orlando police officer Jen Williamson arrived in the area and was assigned as the primary reporting officer for the offense. Officer Williamson conducted an interview with witness number 3, who told 0fficer'Williamson the Honda passed her at a high rate of speed, and struck the victim without attempting to brake or take evasive action. The witness was traveling the same direction on the same roadway as the Honda at the time of the offense. Witness number 3 later gave a sworn, recorded statement documenting her observations.

Responding law enforcement officers soon located the two passengers who had left the scene. The passengers, witness number 4 and witness number 5, were transported to the Orlando Police Headquarters.

Detective Joel Wright of the Orlando Police Department was assigned to conduct the follow-up investigation. Detective Wright took sworn, recorded statements from witness number 1, who was seated in the rear passenger side seat of the Honda at the time of the offense. Witness number I, positively identified the defendant, Allan Barahona as the driver of the Honda by viewing a photo line-up. Witness number 1 was looking down when he felt the car swerve to the left. He looked up and saw uniformed law enforcement officers beside the road, He also saw the victim and recognized the victim as a law enforcement officer.

Detective Wright conducted an interview with witness number 4, who was in the front passenger seat of the Honda when it struck the victim. Witness number 4 stated the defendant was driving at a high rate of speed and was "cutting off' cars while driving. Witness number 4 saw the victim ahead and recognized the victim as a law enforcement officer. Witness number 4 stated the victim stepped in the road to stop the Honda, and the defendant downshifted to accelerate past the victim. The victim stepped in front of the car, and the defendant swerved to the left.

The victim stepped in the path of the Honda again, and the defendant did not swerve, striking the victim. Witness number 4 believed the defendant still had time to avoid striking the victim, but instead continued to drive in the direction of the victim. Witness number 4 stated the defendant continued to drive after striking the victim, but the engine stalled. Witness number 4 stated the defendant attempted to restart the engine but was unable to do so. Witness number 4 stated it appeared the defendant intentionally struck the victim. Witness number 4 positively identified the defendant .as the driver of the Honda by viewing a photo line-up.

So if I understand correctly, the guy aimed at the cop and now they are truying to STOP him from committing suicide?

Next time they should be a little slower...

But our culture is so enriched by illegal immigrants colonists Why even NYC's Mayor Bloomturd took time out from his crusade against the second amendment to let the rest of the country know he thinks (like anyone west of the Hudson cares what he thinks) our economy can't do without them.
