I honestly did not know that. Thank you!

Good morning...and you're welcome!

:-)

A cheap one will run you about $10 at most stores. Make sure it is the real deal and not a knockoff, those just do not work as well.

As for lighters in a vehicle, I agree, partly because there is no way these new digital phones will hit a tower very far out of town without an amplifier out this way, and if you get in a bind (unlike the old bag phones) you won't be able to call anyone without an amp.

I could hardwire it in, but I use the same signal amplifier with a 12V power supply for a private telephone out at the rig.

I have an old van, from the days when GM got 'religion' or something (1975--maybe they were just cheap that year), and had to wire in a 12 V lighter socket just to run my phone amp.

(Dontcha just love 'progress'?)

And no, I don't yak and drive. Not much traffic to hassle with out here, and plenty of places to pull over.

Think of me as you struggle through unimaginable pain for that last breath.

Are you implying that you WON'T struggle through pain for your last breath?

Must be nice to be a prognosticator.

Thanks for the tips on the lighter. I will look into them next week.

And no, I don't yak and drive.

Well, not all of us are gifted with multi tasking abilities. ;*)

Not much traffic to hassle with out here,

You got that right!!! I drove 27 miles and the only living thing I saw were about 12 head of cattle. I loved the Dakotas, MT and WY. I was shocked they had all fallen into the socialist state crap. My biggest disappointment was MT who had given into the seat belt and speed limit crap in order to obtain federal funds. Extortion, pure and simple.

No, no - not at all!

Why, it's common knowledge that being in the same room with a gun is more harmful than being shot.

The same flawless logic. (/sarc)

Ohhhhh, that is an awesome analogy. Really puts it all in perspective. ;*)

Last time I tried it, I got distracted and dropped my cigarette ash in my coffee, and then spilled that all over the crossword puzzle I was doing. A man's got to know his limitations...(8^D)

My biggest disappointment was MT who had given into the seat belt and speed limit crap in order to obtain federal funds. Extortion, pure and simple.

They have the states up here over that barrel, for certain. The last Mile marker on US 2 going from west to east in Montana is 667. All the money goes for the wealthy folk's roads in the west half, much like funding going to Fargo and Bismarck in ND.

The '4-lane' Highway 2 from Minot west to Williston in ND has become an election year mantra like saving the family farm or peace in our time...lots of talk, but darned little road for the rubber to meet. Maybe if we had elections every year, something would get done, but as it is, when the votes are counted, the promises evaporate.

Sad to see the antismoking crap prevailing here, too. I guess the self-righteous have no bounds.

I took Hwy. 2 from Minot to Grand Forks! IIRC from 2 years ago, roads were being torn up all over the place, but especially in Grand Forks.

Grand Forks, Fargo, Bismarck, and either Minot, Jamestown, or Devil's Lake can outvote the rest of the state. Wonder why the lion's share of highway money flows east?

Besides, we have only two seasons here, winter and road construction, (unless you use the color system, then there are three...white, green, and brown, then back to white)

They'd never make it because what we didn't know when they were first created, sold and marketed is just how deadly harmful they were.

That hasn't seemed to hurt the demand for crack & meth.

Four years after we regained our right to consume alcohol, government found the authority to tell us what plants we may or may not ingest.

And this time they didn't bother with amending the Constitution. O brave new world.

You MIGHT become a gigolo, since (I'm guessing), you have the equipment to become such. Can you be prosecuted as one just because you have the POTENTIAL to prostitute yourself?

Prostitution harms nobody (and hence should itself be legal); putting others' lives at risk is another story. I can't agree that it should be legal to shoot into a crowd as long as you're lucky enough to miss them all.

I don't think it's a matter of Brave New World so much as Dumb A$$ Populace.

Prostitution harms nobody (and hence should itself be legal);

But the legality of prostitution wasn't the question. (Although, IMHO, it falls under the laws of private contract and should be legal)

Should government have the ability to punish a person for a 'crime' before it has been committed just because that person had the potential to commit it?

Government should have the ability to punish a person for endangering others; whether that fits your category of "punish[ing] a person for a 'crime' before it has been committed" is your call.

Isn't it funny how people will cry foul when tobacco and nicotine is taken away but laud the government for telling people to go to jail for smoking marijuana?

If tobacco gives the same high as marijuana, why not smoke tobacco?

It's legal. If you're caught smoking tobacco while driving 15 MPH in a 55 MPH zone, you don't get a DUI.

>>LITTLE ROCK - Gov. Mike Huckabee, who successfully pushed for a statewide workplace smoking ban earlier this year, predicted Wednesday that cigarettes eventually won't be sold because of their health risks.<<

If he's right then there will also come a day when cigarettes are the most trafficked illegal substance since prohibition... and we'll have all that extra crime and violence that goes along with it.

"Think of me as you struggle through unimaginable pain for that last breath. I will be content, trust me."

Would a prozac help? You seem to need mental help, what with all this hoping people die slow agonizing deaths, and what-not. Wow.

I am content knowing that someday, when I die, I won't have to hear $hit like this anymore.
