Back then, even "liberals" knew the difference between a real gun and a toy.
Two differences:
1) (some) Toy guns look pretty realistic these days.
2) Back then, no matter HOW realistic it looked, it simply HAD to be a toy gun - few kids would actually wave a real one at you. What about "in the 'hood' today?

Kids shouldn't have toy guns. Someone will just take it off of them and pretend to shoot them with it. LOL

You're right. I agree. When I was their age, I had real guns (long guns, not handguns). It was a different time.
