Your logic is that Rudy is not a good Presidential candidate because he probably could have beaten Hillary for the Senate. This reminds me of some RATs that blame Bush for everything. Rudy had a health reason for not running, and even if he didn't, that would be no reason to criticize him now.

Listen to what many people are saying, WE WILL NOT SUPPORT GIULIANI. I mean exactly that, and suspect many others do as well. Giuliani's history cannot be undone, he is a New York liberal, and always will be.
If Hilary wins, at least she lived in Arkansas for a while, and may not make fun of my accent! Other than that, there is damned little difference. You may succeed in turning our government over to the liberals, but I sure don't intend to help you do it.

Why do you assume anyone wants to convince you of anything or are trying to turn our government over to liberals. Boy we people who like Rudy here on Free Republic must have SOOOOOME CLOUT IN THIS WORLD if we can do that! You obviously have your mind made up and that's your right and noone is trying to change that. I am posting Rudy threads because regardless whether you like them or not there ARE some Freepers who are interested in All the possible candidates that are running and do like Rudy as a candidate. Just remember We are in our own little bubble here on Free Republic - the world out there is NOT Free Republic. If Rudy wants to run and more than half the U.S. wants to support him then its fine and until that changes RUDY IS NEWS RIGHT NOW. If he loses and/or decides not to run then he will disappear like all the other potential ones who don't make it. Like I said many times before I will support Rudy if he runs in the primaries BUT whomever wins the primaries will get my vote be it Allen, Rudy, or whomever. No one wants to convince you of anything.

For starters, anyone who thinks Hitlery Clintong is the be all, end all of the '08 election has already conceded defeat, believes the left wing media driven drivel, or has other motives. I do not believe the liars in the media...

Julie-Annie is a stalking horse for the left and is the Trojan Horse non-candidate (just like he was in Hitlery's first NY senate run) and will ruin the party from within.

The only way the Left can win is to destroy the Republican Party from within. They have lost the public argument and cannot win on the issues, they have to have despotic judges do it for them and they have to undermine conservatives in the Republican primary. (This is the entire reason they have state drives for open primaries, non-partisan legislatures, messing with the electoral college and other electoral scams.)

And they are just drooling at the prospect of ruining the Republican Party by tricking the simple minded to nominate somebody like Giuliani...

The prime example and litmus issue to tell this is the left wing Holy Grail of homosexual monogamy - - something the RINOs support, along with their constant bashing of the religious folks.

I receive no benefit from the same things just because they have different Madison Avenue designer labels:

I might has well vote for Bullwinkle, there isn't a dime's worth of difference between them. I have absolutely nothing in common with either of them - - and I do not like New York lawyers to begin with.

I am tired of illegal immigration and that is what people are talking about. Language, borders, culture...

The cult of personality will address none of the three and neither will Julie-Annie... I am not going to be conned by a two card Monty from the Madison Avenue limousine liberals.

Julie-Annie can't even beat Hitlery in the New York senate race, he won't even attempt to. If he were at all serious about getting her out of the picture, he would have done it there. He is a stalking horse for the Left from the United Nations capitol... and loves the media limelight...

I am with you 110%...

If the New York Republicans and Giuliani himself are so happy to sit on their hands and let Hillary Clinton be their senator, why the hell should the rest of the Republicans suffer their incompetence on the national stage???

I do not trust the Madison Avenue limousine liberals, nor will I fall for the old two card Monty...

Rudy and mccain will split the rino vote, neither one will be our nominee. Rino's aren't the majority of our party.

Right...

Clinton vetoed partial birth abortion
Clinton signed assault weapons ban
Clinton started "dont ask dont tell" for the military
Illegal Immigration is an issue for all presidents
Clinton passed defense of marriage act, something rudy would not do.

Social issues hit a president's desk often, nice try for saying they are non issues. Rudy will go the wrong way on all of them.

Allen will be a factor and only a fool would underestimate him. In most blogosphere straw polls ALlen consistently beats Rudy. When people get to know allen, they will flock to him and vote for him. DOn't forget, Allen will have rush and hannity cheering him on. That is a big factor that will give him a big boost in the primary since most if not all of rush's and hannity listeners are primary voters.

We will see.
There were quite a few regular polls at Hugh Hewitt a few months back, and Rudy easily took out Allen.
Meanwhile you don't need me to tell you that internet polls are not very scientific.
Allen is simply not on the radar screen in any normal polls I have seen, even amongst conservatives.

As for Rush, I am yet to see him campaign for Allen. He has blasted McCain lots of times though, and hasn't really had anything bad to say Rudy that I can recall.

Your wrong about the hugh hewitt polls. Yes Rudy did lead for a while, but eventually allen took him over int he later months and does lead to this day. Even on patrick ruffini's site right now, for the month of july allen beat rudy by about 6 points.

It used to be that rudy led allen by about 3-4 points, but as months went on and new polls came out allen eventually tied rudy and now beats him 3-6 points on the hugh hewitt/ruffini polls.

As for rush, you clearly arent listening. Every time someone brings up 2008 he always states that Allen is his man. Ever since about dec 2004, someone asked him who he supported and he stated Allen.

If so, where's Allen's Rush bounce that you were talking about then?
Haven't seen it anywhere.

"Your wrong about the hugh hewitt polls."

Nope.
Every one of them I saw and voted in, had Rudy clobbering Allen.
In fact when he included Condi in the earlier polls, it was between Condi and Rudy for the lead.

Sorry but your just wrong, look it up. Rudy did beat allen by a few points initially, but as the months went on Allen beat rudy. Take a look at ruffini's poll now, hugh hewitt took over from ruffini and the same people tend to vote in both because the same people link to both.

Here was last months results with 21k people voting:
Total Votes: 21734

Results:
Allen 7234 (33.3%)
Giuliani 5869 (27%)
Romney 2961 (13.6%)
Frist 2557 (11.8%)
McCain 2131 (9.8%)

This was last months poll. I saw the last one hugh did and allen beat rudy. Nice try but lying isnt going to get you anywhere, at least be intellecually honest enough to admit the facts. I admit, rudy is winning on national polls right now, but that is largely on name recognition. The blogosphere has it as allen beating rudy.

Take a look at the gop bloggers recent poll, allen was the clear winner

http://www.gopbloggers.org/julypollresults.php?refer=exposetheleft.com

Rudy is not winning in these giant blogosphere poll at all.

In my opinion the issues you raise:
1) I am personally opposed to abortion, including partial birth, but this pba affects a minuscule number of abortions and in the panoply of Presidential issues ranks extremely low;
(2) I though the assault weapons ban was not only stupid, but ineffective, but frankly, if you study the constitutional law, not unconstitutional. I am concerned about going beyond awb, but again, this issue is not huge (but more important than #1);
(3) I actually agree with this policy. Bad Behavior is what should be punished in our military justice system. I don't have a problem with gays in the military, as long as their behavior sticks to military norms;
(4) I think marriage is between a man and a woman, but I believe in states rights. I resent Judicial fiat, and therefore support the defense of marriage act, but frankly, is a state wants to allow gay marriage, that state should be allowed to do so;

These issues weight very little on the keys to Presidential Power. They may be more important to you than national defense, homeland security, fiscal sanity and free enterprise and private property rights, but not to me.

Forgot the Illegal Immigration:

THAT is an important issue. I don't recall Rudy weighing in on that issue.

Bah, you folks support that d-Yankee Liberal ya oughta turn in yer rebel flags and resign from the Confederacy. Even the discussion is a disgrace. Stand Watie would never forgive you. A feller would think enough of you would have roots in the Cherokee, Choctaw and Muskogee Nations to have a decent memory of that type.
