You know, the guy is correct. Except intrinsic is probably not the right word to use with the current Latino wave of illegals. I would even agree with a "an important part of."

Sure, the country is loaded with racists, bigots, xenophobes, Jew-Baiters, Anti-Papists, and every other unfashionable sort you wouldn't want mouthing off at the country club bar. But that's no reason not to enforce the law.
I personally believe the "Great Illegal Immigration Debate," is a fraud and a distraction. Why? Well for one thing, it definitely brings PDR's racists, bigots, and xenophobes out in public, where they are effectively used to cancel the debate.

But mainly, it has become a fraud and a distraction because there is no need for debate. Folks, it's over. The demographic shift is here. Done deal. 110 years from now, this will be a majority-Latino country. Stop illegal immigration tonight at midnite. OK, it will take 115 years. BFD.

Will our country's people look like Guatemala, or Chile? Now that's a good question.(A racist question to be sure, but nonetheless a good one.) Depends on how fast we intermarry. But when you bring in hordes in a tidal wave of illegal immigration, such as we have done, they mostly will marry each other! (IMHO)

I think I can prove my theory: the fact that politicians are now talking about illegal immigration defitely proves it's over. Those of us who warned of illegal immigration in the 70's will have the luxury of having been proven correct. Our new Latino neighbors couldn't possibly care less.

Sorry gang. Isee all the popular sound and fury over this issue, but I see no collective, official will to correct it. This is still (temporarily, anyway) America. If we 'don't 'git'er done," it's because we really don't want to, where it counts.

Arnold is a carbon copy of Gray Doofus on the issues. Thanks to those issues now being promoted by the top Republican in the state, all of California has shifted leftward. What was considered center-left under Doofus is now seen as the "conservative" position. Since the CA RATs have to move far-left just to disagree with Arnie, wacky socialists like Gavin Newsom and Antonio Villagosia are now being proclaimed as moderate, consesus-builders by the media. During Doofus' tenure they were unelectable marxist nuts.

At this time racism as a tool is almost exclusively the province of the protagonists for the status quo, or worse.

I was saddened to see the PDR account attempt to inject that red herring onto this forum. I was glad to see Freepers quickly call the account on the transparent stunt.

That's the tendency. For the insecure and intolerant, the complaints are always about how Latino immigrants -- legal or illegal -- are changing the cultural landscape. Many Americans are ready to go to war over the annoyance of having to press "1'' for English in Nebraska, or seeing Spanish-language billboards in Nevada, or watching Brazilian restaurants pop up in once-deserted downtowns in New Jersey.

This alone shows the guy needs a ticket for the clue bus.

For me, it boils down to the FACT that the invaders are deteriorating my standard of living. Higher; crime, disease, taxes.... No one has the right to force the burden of this people on me so they can increase their income or power.

If I wanted to live in a third world country I'd move to Mexico. LEGALLY.

Speaking of xenophobia, racism, and even a bit of chauvinism, I think you'll find that our new neighbors del Sur aren't half-bad at all of those things.

BTW, how could any rational person be surprised that this massive tidal wave of illegal immigration would awaken a certain nativistic, not to mention atavistic, strain lurking below the surface of even the most mild-mannered and tolerant among us?

Some of the older population stocks of the United States are being swept into minority status ... of course there's going to be a bit of resentment, especially since so many illegals are coming so quickly, that any expectation of assimilation or integration seems mighty far-fetched.
