Don't worry though, you will be singing in top form soon enough. It took him about six weeks to be fully recovered (to where his voice didn't sound like he had been smoking cigars to much). I don't wanna have surgery on my home leave. The stupid tonsillitis will be a distant memory when I am kicking back and enjoying life stateside next month. ;-)

I get 2 or three doses of tonsillitis every year. Most of the time it's not strep, it's viral or some other sort.
They are staying in my throat.

NO SURGERY, Allegra. Just beer and ball games and barbecues...all fun all the time.

My daughter also gets tonsillitis a couple of times a year. Never strep (thank goodness) and a dose of amoxicillin
usually takes care of it.
She had a bad case a year or two ago though, and had to go on much stronger antibiotics. There is a potential for abscess to occur which is why it's important to never ignore and stay right on top of bringing tonsillitis under control. Thankfully, the high-powered antibiotics did the trick.
