I don't remember how many nights I've ended up here at 2:30 Eastern. Or how many times I've said "Oh, crap! I forgot to eat!" This is a slow time always and I think I'm going to grab half of that Subway sub my hubby brought home, then head to bed. I have 1 of my grandkids here in the morning. He's 2 1/2, so that will require some resting up on my part. :)

With the deep insertion and southern offensive, the Israelis are finally exerting overwhelming military force. They are literally kicking a$$ and taking names as we speak.

The only remaining issue is whether Hezbolla is completely or less than completely decimated, and that will depend, ultimately, on both US and Arab reaction.

Israeli children lie in their beds at a bomb shelter in the town of Kyriat Shmona.

They've been in these bunkers since the war started, 3 weeks ago.

Tonsillitis is no fun per my kids. I've never had it and still have tonsils, although with age they seem to be disappearing?

I've been plagued by these dang tonsils since I was about six. I get this every two or three years. I've had doctors tell me I would "outgrow" it, but I sure haven't yet. Maybe that's jut further confirmation that I haven't grown up yet. LOL

I've never had strep throat or anything real serious, though, so I wonder if my tonsils are acting like a lightning rod.

I've been leaving yahoo messages for my son. He gets them at 2am my time. He thinks the Israelis are kicking butt.

Ahh, quite a different story from what the media says. What a shock. :-)

Where is your son?

Chabad distributes books of Psalms in North

Chabad have printed a million copies of Psalms, which were being distributed to residents and IDF soldiers in the North, it was reported on Tuesday.

"During our activities in the North we discovered there was a huge demand for psalms," said Habad spokesman Rabbi Menahem Brod.

Russian-born business tycoon and Betar Jerusalem owner, Arkady Gaydamak, was funding the initiative.

Brod noted that all the books of Psalms were placed in a nylon pouch in order that they could be put in a pocket and brought into the bathroom. According to Jewish law it is prohibited to take holy books into the restroom.

An Israeli reacts after a Hezbollah-fired rocket directly hit a building in the northern costal town of Nahariya, Thursday July 13, 2006. Rockets fired by Lebanese guerillas hit a group of journalists working in the northern Israeli town of Nahariya on Thursday, injuring at least one person.

Didn't hear anything about Hezzie rockets hitting journos, did ya? Imagine what would have happened if those had been Israeli ordinance.

"An Israeli farmer drives his tractor near an IDF 155 mm. artillery unit entering his Moshav in the border with Lebanon."

Can someone answer this question? The Israeli troops put on a "helmut" that looks like a ladies' hair dryer cap. Like an enlarged beret. Like a puffy pancake on their heads. Like a ladies' shower cap greatly enlarged. What the heck is it and what purpose does it serve? Inquiring minds want to know (mine).

I don't know anything about drs. in Iraq. What did the one who treated you say? I've always thought tonsils were there to protect you from illness, but I'm wondering if you have had problems if you should consider having them out. Maybe when you come back in Sept. you could make an appt. here?

I remember my brother-in-law calling us from Hawaii to congratulate us on the birth of our twins in 1974. Our phone rang at 3 a.m. :)

3 a.m. phone calls. Just what you need when you're already sleep-deprived with brand new twins. I helped a good friend of mine with her infant twins and I saw just how much work is involved with that. Those little boys are 14 now...every time I see them, it's such a shock to see how they're growing up. they're little voices are even all deep now.

They're still just as sweet as they were when they were babies. At least they are to me.
