What astounds me is how widespread some of the conspiracy theories are. I can understand the Charlie Sheens and Cynthia McKinneys of the world falling for them, but I've met sane people (somewhat sane, anyway) who swear September 11th was planned by the Bush administration. It's mind-boggling.
