is the IDF going after Saddam's WMD?

The bigger question is, if they find them, will it be reported by ABC/CBS/NBC/MSNBC/NYT/WaPo/Reuters/AP?

"is the IDF going after Saddam's WMD?"

How long before Democrats start saying "the IDF can't bomb the Bekaa Valley, it would cause Saddam's WMDs to blow up and hurt the civilian population!" And they'll say without even a hint of irony, and the MSM won't even raise an eyebrow. Nancy Pelosi did something similar when she opposed going into Iraq because Saddam "didn't have WMDs" but then said that our soldiers could get sprayed by Saddam's nerve gas.

"... is the IDF going after Saddam's WMD?"

If there are WMD then that must be the first priority. Hezbollah would not hesitate to use them if they could. It would not surprise me if Syria were not allowing them to be used until the US is out of Iraq or until Iran gets nukes. Using WMD before then would bolster the case for going into Iraq, druve up support for Bush, and thwart all of the heretofore efforts of the radical Islamists and their allies in the media and congress.

It is fairly certain that the WMD that Syria stored in the Bekaa Valley after having received them from Saddam Hussein are no longer there. They would have been removed back when Syria removed their troops and secret police.

Contrary to what some FReepers might believe, Syria had no intention whatever of allowing Hezbollah to get their hands on any of those "toys". I only hope that Bashar Assad made d-d sure his people removed all of them. For if he did not, and the Hezbullies know where they are, then things could take a very serious twist, and a long-uttered Biblical prophecy fulfilled on word-wide cable TV...
