And it is not far from Bitburg.

Never spent much time at Bitburg. I was stationed at Hahn and Spangdahlem. Had an apartment in Traben-Trarbach for 3 years. I absolutely love that area.

I went there as part of the Presidential advance for Reagan's famous trip to the Bitburg cemetery. We stayed in Trier for three weeks and commuted to Bitburg. It was an eventful trip to say the least. I felt sorry for the Mayor who daughter was married to an American serviceman. The distinction between the Waffen SS and the regular SS was lost on everyone. Also, the US base commanders had been participating in similar ceremonies for nearly 20 years.

Great area. Abends Bit, morgans fit.
