JON CARROLL [Why The Dems Destroy Themselves]
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | 8/1/6 | Jon Carroll

Posted on 08/01/2006 7:48:31 AM PDT by SmithL

Today I'm going to quote extensively from an article by Chris Bowers at a Web site called MyDD (www.mydd.com), "DD" in this case standing for direct democracy. The article lays out something that I've been chaotically attempting to think about for some time, and does it more clearly than I've been able to manage.

The question before the house, as it has been for some time, is: "Why are the Democrats having trouble getting elected even though their opponents lie, cheat and steal with bewildering frequency?" Below is just a partial answer, I think, but it's a darned good start.

"The habit of the Democratic Party to kill itself via self-referential meta-talk was on full display at the DLC (Democratic Leadership Conference) meeting yesterday. Tell me if you can find what is wrong with the message coming out of the conference. (Here's a quote) from the San Jose Mercury News: "Sen. (Hillary Clinton) said the council's initiative can 'unite Democrats and elect Democrats.'

"Now, when you preface your policy proposals by indicating that said proposals are intended to win elections and unite your party, you have already pretty much ended any chance that people will think you are making said proposals because you believe in those proposals. This is because, well, you just said that the purpose of these proposals was to win elections. Americans love it when politicians admit in public that their legislative proposals are designed to win elections.

"More brilliant messaging from the same article: 'Stone said the council's centrist approach has been the only proven success for Democrats in the past 25 years.'

"While this is not a direct quote, it is a widely held sentiment in some Democratic circles

Huh?
When did William Jefferson, BJ Kinton and Ted "The Swimmer" Kennedy become Republicans?

I'm pretty sure he's talking about their primary opponents.....

Democrats always accuse others of the crimes for which they are guilty. Like Hezbollah.

It's even better when they announce that they are going to quote from the Bible to bring in those idiot evangelicals to vote for them. And then screw up the quotation.

Expect only that Hitlery and others will just change their wording. They clearly have no other understanding of what it is the people want nor do they care.

I like this guy. I want him to convince the rat to run on what he really believes and not what he thinks he need to hear from him. This is so because what the rat believes is so repulsive to at least 53% of voters that it will keep us in power. As I have collected thus far, the rat believes the follow pile of crap.

The Democrats stand for:
Your 13year old daughter can have an abortion without telling you, but she can't get an aspirin from the school nurse or go on a class trip without written

Two queers (their word not mine) “marrying” is a healthy alternate lifestyle; America is a force for evil in the world;

An American defeat in Iraq would be a good thing; America is always wrong. Europe is always superior to America;

We should cut and run in a quick surrender in Iraq; Hollywood values are American values;

Voters are stupid and liberal activist judges know better;

Patriotism is child like and corny;

School prayer caused the problems in our public schools;

All money belongs to Washington;

Democrat knee jerk liberalism requires that they:
hate policemen ;- hate the Armed Forces; - hate Boy Scouts
- hate Christians, except the ones who stand for nothing and "marry" queers.

Democrats have to be against capital punishment, yet support abortion on demand.

They believe that businesses create oppression and governments create prosperity.

They believe guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans are more of a threat than U.S. nuclear weapons technology in the hands of Chinese and North Korean communists.

Democrats believe there was no art before Federal funding.

They believe that global temperatures are less affected by cyclical documented changes in the earth's climate and more affected by soccer moms driving SUV's.

They believe that gender roles are artificial but being
homosexual is natural.

They believe that the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of federal funding.

They believe that the same teacher who can't teach 4th-graders how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about sex and the benefits of having two daddies .

Democrats believe that outdoorsmen don't care about nature, but loony activists who have never been outside of San Francisco do.

They believe that self-esteem is more important than actually doing something to earn it, and that good intentions overcome and outweigh bad results.

Democrats have to believe the NRA is bad because it supports certain parts of the constitution, while the ACLU is good because it supports certain parts of the Constitution.

They have to believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too high.

Democrats have to believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, Gen. Robert E. Lee and Thomas Edison.

Democrats believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial quotas and set-asides are not.

They have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried is because the right people haven't been in charge, and that with the RIGHT people carrying it out Americans will accept socialism.

Democrats have to believe conservatives telling the truth belong in jail, but a lying sex offender belonged in the White House.

They have to believe that homosexual parades displaying drag queens,transvestites, and bestiality should be constitutionally protected and Nativity scenes at Christmas should be illegal.

They have to believe that illegal Democratic Party funding by the Chinese Government is somehow in the best interest of the United States, but there is something wrong with American companies contributing to Republicans instead of Democrats.

Democrats have to believe that this list is a lie made up by the vast, right wing conspiracy

FINAL THOUGHT
"Our goal is no less than to forge a new era of social justice where the principles of the United Nations' Universal Declaration of Human Rights are [sic] recognized and enforced in the United States." Also: "It is clear that we can no longer count on the [U.S.] Constitution. . . . We must emphasize the positive face of globalism."
