and out of jail sooner than usual in these instances.

And Mayor Bob-White's advice is to stay off the roads after 11pm.

That's a given with the carjacking and drive bys in this town that the police refuse to address.

No but Gore's son was driving with his headlights off and a joint.

White is on his way out of office as mayor (term limits) but he's already being talked up for a Senatorial run.

And he is a former member of the Clinton Administration (as was Houston's previous mayor, Lee P. Brown).

There seems to be an increase in the number of DWI charges (especially in Texas) coming fresh on the heels of ending a plan that targeted "drunks" in bars (anyone with more than 2 drinks, even if they were drinking and staying in a hotel).

The 2,200 people arrested in Texas in that 6 month effort netted potentially $1million but the PR blew back. So now they are going a more traditional route for revenue.

White failed a field sobriety test and refused a Breathalyzer test, Michna said.

Michel said White does have a driver's license.

I hope she realizes how blessed she was in that no one was hurt as a result of her actions.

She is just a kid. I like the quote Mayor White gave. (No I am not a troll and I don't wish him ANY political success.) I think it was a good perspective.

The girl is 17. In a state where 21 is the drinking age, how could her being drunk only merit a "possible" legal violation?

I don't care much for the girls dad and it was obviously just a dumb move by a dumb kids but I still think its news.

And if someone is an activist trying to ditch her Liberal dad mayor of one America's largest cities, then it certainly is activism.

It wouldn't dawn on my to instruct my 17-year old to refuse a breathalizer. Maybe it was on her own volition, though I doubt it.

If guilty, she should, IMO.

I like the fact that he is sticking by his kid without automatically assuming that he needs to stick up for his kid. I like the fact that he is aknowledging his kid probably did something wrong. He is her dad, why would he say anything stronger than "possibly".

Until she has her day in court for all anyone knows she had a bad reaction to Benadryl.

For that matter, as bad and stupid of an idea as I think it is, drinking under 21 is not illegal if you are in the company of your parents. Again, for all anyone knows, she was at a family outing and had a few with the folks (again I doubt it).

I think it beats the fire out of,
"Gosh we had no idea... I never dreamed she could be do something like this."

No doubt if my kid is caught drinking. I'm busting tell with a belt old fashion style. But I still am going to make sure she knows that she is loved and cared for.

And if anyone wanted to come at her they would be coming through a lot of old fashion redneck mean before they got there.
