Was Qana Staged? Cont'd [Jonah Goldberg]
A giant banner denouncing Rice and the "Qana massacre" might have been made a bit too quickly.

I don't want to get too far out ahead on this, but I know we've got a zillion printer-type folks among our readers. Do you guys think such a banner could be made in 2-4 hours (particularly in a supposedly war-ravaged area)?

Update: From a reader:

"Do you guys think such a banner could be made in 2-4 hours (particularly in a supposedly war-ravaged area)?"

Heck no. A designer could throw it together in probably 15 minutes or so, but the longest part would be the printing. Notice how deep the reds and blacks are - this means they didn't just bust it out. I wouldnt be surprised if that job itself (requiring special equipment, as it looks to be printed on canvas or nylon, not merely paper) took 6 hours simply to print.

Also, that puppy would be expensive.

Update II: From a reader:

Nope. Not possible in 2 hours to design, typeset, print, assemble and transport to the site. 24 hours if you're really good to do all the above. I say that as an career commercial artist of 18 years now.

Update III: From another reader:

called a close friend who has a very large printing company in NY with the question.  he called out to one of his technicians as to how long a color 30 foot banner would take to produce.  the response was that it would have to be done by a special machine and that machine would take "5 to 6 hours."     by the way, their rather enormous, state of the art (less than 6 months old) facility doesn't even have the equipment necessary to do it.  so make a guess as to what's available in a war-ravaged area...

Hey, with a hundred million dollars a year from Iran, I bet they can afford some really nice stuff.

Qana Rules

"..Israel as I write these lines has just bombed the Lebanese town of Qana, where in 1996 it killed well over 100 civilians hiding in a bomb shelter during its infamous Grapes of Wrath operation..."

There was another Qana incident in 1996, that is where the 2 comes from. Actually this makes a setup more likely because the Hezzies can say the Israelis never change and the notorious location would be a good place to set up an incident.

I worked for Packaging Corp of America (PCA) for many years.
http://www.packagingcorp.com/

We used Heidelberg Presses (we had 2 large ones and 1 small one)
http://www.heidelberg-printing-press.com/

We did point of sale printing and packaging.
http://www.packagingcorp.com/what_pos_packaging.html
We printed most all the candy boxes (Milk Duds, Good and Plenty, etc), Oral B Toothbrush boxes (when they packaged them in boxes), Rawlings Sporting Gear Boxes, The full Kotex line of boxes, all Beatrice Cream Cheese Boxes (some 400 brands of Cream Cheese are processed by Beatrice), and so many others.

Banner Printing with one of these huge inkjet printers is no big deal, it is simply not an involved process. Not like the type of printing we did at PCA.

...and much of the Media is corrupt.

And lazy, too willing to take, verbatim, from the AP/Reuters template of whatever comes down the wire. They crawl out of their hotels, stand on their hills, and roll the talking heads who read template - never do their own work or investigating.

If the building was demolished with Hez explosives at the foundations, I bet the roof stays intact.

Liberal Media exposed once again as easy dupes for Terrorists

I think that is the tack to take on the media. We should question their intelligence. I think that will upset them more than if we question their bias or patriotism.

They think they are the smartest people in the world. If they are mocked for beng the dolts they really are, maybe they would start doing a better job getting the truth out.

So let me go on record. How could those reporters be so stupid to not even ask why it took Rescue Man 8 hours to get the children out. Why didn't the journalists ask why the children were left in a building that had been shelled. The reporters must be too lazy or too stupid to ask the obvious questions.

It makes perfect sense if it is a setup. Load a bunch of dead or alive bodies into the building and blow it up and blame the Jews.

Speaking of CNN, what about the sheets of uncut $100 bills that were strewn across the rubble of the scene they shot yesterday. I believe it was CNN or MSNBC - plain as day.

Why would the White House not bring stuff like this up via a media savvy guy like Snow?

From the article link it said this banner was hung in Qana. I just read an article saying in was hung on a bridge in Beirut.

http://www.middle-east-online.com/english/?id=17143

So that solves the transportation time line. Garbage in garbage out.

Good Stuff! See post 102. More and More it looks like they had this setup planned for some time and much of the world is
falling for it. What really POs me is that the Israelis themselve are not all over the holes in the story!

brought disabled children inside

Hmm, "disabled" as in they could play in the Special Olympics or "disabled" as in Hez knocked them out so as to make it easier to haul them into the building?

It appears that the poster in question was absolutely possible to have been made after the collapse of the building. No doubt that it is possible.

Here are a few questions that would be very interesting to see answered:

1. Can someone from the US Intelligence community track down exactly WHERE in Beirut this was printed? This involves calling the printer manufacturers capable of producing this poster and getting their lists of customers in Beirut.

2. What is the cost?

3. Who ordered this?

4. When was it ordered?

IMO, it is unlikely that, out of the blue, some protesters got the idea of this poster, a picture of Condi Rice, the historically significant heading of the 10 year old previous "massacre", located the print shop, got the picture to the shop, got the money for this, the shop produce it and it get delivered and displayed

all in 3-4 hours after the building collapsed.

It IS possible. It is NOT likely.

IMO, it is almost guaranteed that the print shop was prepped before hand to prepare for a large banner. You don't produce something like this on the spur of the moment and do it that quickly. There HAD to be some type of prior planning.

The question is: Was that prior planning evidence of a planned massacre or staged event?

from FDD.......August 01, 2006

HEZBOLLAH'S GOALS: Hezbollah began the current phase of this conflict by attacking Israel -- crossing an international border and lobbing missiles into Israeli cities. Hezbollah targets Israeli civilians every day. Hezbollah uses Lebanese civilians -- including women and children -- as human shields, behind which it hides both combatants and weapons. Now, it appears, more than fifty of those human shields have been killed in an Israeli air strike on Qana in southern Lebanon.

As Hezbollah anticipated, most of the media and "international community" are placing the blame on Israel. Predictably, too, the fabled "Arab street" is now rallying around Hezbollah. In the West Bank, protestors are asking Hezbollah to strike civilians in Tel Aviv.

This essential truth remains: Hezbollah intends to kill as many Israeli civilians as possible. Israel intends to kill as few Lebanese civilians as possible.

And this too is indisputable: Hezbollah -- backed by the fascist rulers of Damascus and Tehran -- is responsible for the carnage and destruction being suffered in Lebanon as well as in Israel. Israel did not want to go to war in Lebanon. Israelis have hoped, as much as anyone in the world, to see Lebanon develop into a free nation with which it could live in peace.

But such a vision is anathema to Militant Islamists. They have a different future in mind for Lebanon. And for Israel they want no future at all.

"There is no solution to this conflict in this region except with the disappearance of Israel," said Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. Can he make his goal any clearer than that?

HEZBOLLAH'S STRATEGY: The Israel Defense Forces have released surveillance video showing that Hezbollah was firing rockets from Qana, and hiding rocket launchers in civilian areas. The IDF also believes that Hezbollah explosives in the building may have caused the explosion that resulted in the structure's collapse.

Do you think Western journalists in Lebanon are aggressively pursuing this story? Do you think they are asking Lebanese civilians if they've been prevented from leaving dangerous areas? I don't. I don't think many dare.

"And lazy, too willing to take, verbatim,..."

Yep, that, and these so called Journalists/Reporters are no longer interested in investigating and exposing a truth, now they will search for anything, no matter how suspect, that is sensational and/or meets the bias and agendas of their corrupt employers. It's not news anymore, it's paid programming.
