The wife and father of kidnapped Israeli soldier Ehud Goldwasser, Karnit, holding a wedding photograph, and Shlomo Goldwasser arrive at Heathrow Airport in London, Monday July 31, 2006. Hezbollah kidnapped two Israeli soldiers on July 12, triggering an Israeli offensive against Lebanon that has killed hundreds of people, mostly civilians.
Meanwhile, back in the States, islam is quietly preparing for??????

I think you are far tooo sadly correct.
I'm reminded of the TIME MACHINE where the surface people are going wilingly into the underground caverns to be eaten.
What a nation of sheeple we have become. Hideous.
Why are we waisting our time with this nut. I've know since it hit the news that Iran would not and will not cease its nuclear program unless it is destroyed by force.
I think we need to buck up and take care of it. Every day that passes just makes the situation that much more dangerous.
You have any more info on the Iranians and the 8/22 thing?
And I still don't think the puppet masters will allow it to get super hot until after the Beijing Olympics in 2008. Some think not until 2012.
But I wouldn't place bets on that . . . actually, not on either though I'm pretty convinced of the after 2008 thing.
Hear, hear.
The bonds and trust built during the silly stuff is life savers when things get hairy.
It's good to know who gets solid and reliable in a crisis, who gets silly and reliable, and who to scroll by. ;-)
This war is just getting more and more serious. These threads are sanity savers as much as information and wisdom gold mines.
Will be in and out today, real life calls, but I keep reading in between errands.
Thanks to you all!

August 22nd was the deadline for Iran to respond to the incentives offered by the UN. That date has now been pushed to August 31st.
Amadgonad's statement today basically rejects it, so in my opinion it should be game on.
Israel accidently kills 50 some civilians in Lebanon (if you believe the set-up) and the Muslim world goes berserk. Muslims in Iraq murder 50 some Muslims in Iraq and not a peep from anywhere in the Caliphate. At the bottom line their empty culture respects only the strong horse...let the President and the Israelis show them what the strong horse looks like.
The links to my post 330 are working now.
On to the Bekaa valley?
Additional Three Divisions called up by IDF
Knesset Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee approves call-up of another 3 divisions; Foreign Minister Livni: No time limit on IDF operation despite ongoing diplomatic efforts

I still can't figure out if this is in addition to the 3 divisions called up last week. Anyone else know. I also heard the Syrians have called up reserves.
I am also more focussed on Iran at this point. But I think Iran systematically planned this out from top to bottom- at least the initial taunts to get Israel to take the bait. When the Hezzies couldn't get the initial reaction they wanted out of Israel they took to the missles knowing Israel would then reply swiftly. Methinks Iran is using this as a means to soften up the enemy for the weeks ahead, take a peak at world opinion and align a coalition, and get a handle on IDF abilities. I guess time will tell.

[excerpt]
GENEVA Two U.N. aid convoys destined for southern Lebanon were halted Tuesday after failing to receive necessary security clearance from Israeli military forces and Hezbollah.
Christiane Berthiaume, a spokeswoman for the World Food Program, said one aid shipment intended for the coastal city of Naqoura and one for the hillside town of Rmaich, about 85 miles south of Beirut, were unable to reach their destinations.
The U.N. requires that Hezbollah and the Israeli army be notified of the route and timeframe for each convoy, and that the two sides acknowledge the information. We did not get the necessary concurrence, so we're not going, Berthiaume told The Associated Press..."
I "think" it was Iran who set the August 22nd deadline originally. Apparently this date has Islamic importance.
"It is a deadline, not a bungee cord."
But it is a UNdeadline.
I was just going to post that I didn't think it was a really good idea for Olmert to do that!! LOL!
Well the problem with that theory is that it assumes you can get a medium sized war with Israel. That would seem like a long shot from Iran's point of view.
Could be we are all over-analyzing this. Occam would tell us that the "Iran's Mullahs are Nuts-cases" theory is the best. Could be.
