I think it more likely that it was disinformation. However, we will just have to wait and see. I would point out to you, however, that the Israelis don't do a bunch of leaking, unlike the American government, particularly the STATE department.

If that first wacky report was the insertion, and the latest was the extraction, we should hear something official from the Israeli Army in about an hour, once everybody's out of there.
"Lebanese sources" so far have said the hospital was in use, was a military headquarters, and was abandoned. I'd say we're at the "the more we hear, the less we know" stage.

Yet for two decades, Israel was hectored to comply with U.N. resolutions demanding Israel's withdrawal. In May 2000, it complied. To ensure that there could be no possible residual territorial dispute, Israel asked the United Nations to draw the line demarcating the true Israeli-Lebanese border — the so-called Blue Line — then pulled back behind it.
Israel's reward?
Hezbollah was not mollified. While its ostensible mission was the liberation of Lebanese territory, it did not disband. On the contrary. It occupied south Lebanon, imported huge new supplies of weapons from Iran and began sporadic cross-border attacks on Israel..."

Maybe you never watched it (or maybe you did) but Sara Jessica Parker's character 'Carrie' on Sex in the City was a punster and I am sure they had a blast writing stuff for that character. I loved it.
