Harry ("if they do not accept our terms they will face a rain of ruin from the air the likes never seen on this earth") Truman would know just how to handle these carpet flyin' muslim savages. so would curtis lemay.

Seems the Jews are hitting mostly all military targets and the terrorist are hitting anything and everything without limitations.
When is Israel going to just unleash it's force against the whole nation of Lebanon so they can win this quicker and stop all this?
It is all this military targeting that is causing more problems IMO.

"We will stop the war when the [rocket] threat is removed..., our captive soldiers return home in peace, and you are able to live in safety and security," Olmert said, addressing the mayors of northern towns. Damn right and any country that demands Israel back down before the threat is neutralized is on the side of the terrorists, IMHO.

......when her neighbors acknowledge her right to exist. ~snip~ This is not about the rockets, or a few kidnapped soldiers, this is about Israel's long-term survival. I think this is about the free world's right to exist.
Most people don't realize it yet, unfortunately.

There comes a time when Israel must realize that peace will only come when her neighbors acknowledge her right to exist. To not take action right now to eliminate forever the threats against her, will condemn future generations to the same vicious cycle of violence. This is not about the rockets, or a few kidnapped soldiers, this is about Israel's long-term survival. Very well said.

At some point Israel needs to unleash the Kracken!
The ONLY thing respected in that part of the world is military power.

Israel is at a crossroad. The fate of their Nation will hinge on the direction they take.
They can decide that it is better to survive and be hated by the main stream media or they can be Mr. Nice Guy and be destroyed.
The Nations and organizations that hate them will still hate them regardless of what they do.
The United States has the same choice ot make.
The comunists, followers of the pervert, Democrats, alcu, and the main stream media have not wavered from their goal which is the destruction of the United States as we know it.
We are in a war. Weather we want it or do not want it is immaterial. The important thing o remember is that there will only be one winner. Us or them.

The ONLY thing respected in that part of the world is military power. They are no different from any bully, they only do it because they think they can get away with it.
Lets watch while Israel corrects their belief.

Some tough decisions will have to be made before this gets sorted out and IMHO chances for success would be much improved with a military man (like Bibi) at the helm.No doubt about that...Olmert's statement no doubt just caused a shockwave thru out the a-rab world...
Hopefully Olmert realizes by making that statement, he just invited the a-rabs to come and get a piece...And hopefully, Olmert is prepared...

It is all this military targeting that is causing more problems IMO. So you advocate indiscriminately hitting civilian targets?
I would not do that. For one, not that I care much, it stirs up the rest of the animals. Secondly, it wastes resources. Those civilians are not a threat, at least not a proximate one, to Israel. Hezbollah military forces are. Should the Lebanese Army, such as it is, start supporting Hezbollah, then they too become a threat, and thus a legitimate target.
Hitting military targets in the "rear" also disrupts resupply and movement of reserve forces to the battle zone, and thus protects Israeli soldiers. Hezbollah, like the IDF, has the bulk of it's forces as reservists, AFAIK.

I'm all for Israel kicking their butts and then going in and taking care of Hamas. I honestly wish they would go into Syria and Iran. They've been spoiling for it, and you know they're behind Hamas, Hezbollah, and the "insurgents" in Iraq! I'd be happy if the US were to join them in taking out Iran.

And hopefully, Olmert is prepared...Olmert is a very able politician and a good man...but his military experience is slim.
Since Israel is a country at war, it needs IMHO a person of warrior spirit.
At one point, Olmert said "Israel is tired." (source)
I suggest, he wasn't speaking for Israel, he was speaking for himself. He is a good man but he isn't a leader. A leader gives his followers strength...not defeatism.

Olmert is Israel's Harry Truman.
After the Big Dog, FDR, keeled over, Harry came in and won the war.
Funny you say that - Truman recognized Israel something like 10 minutes after they declared their nationhood.
I know what you mean - knowing what I know of Truman before he became President, I would not have expected him to drop the Bomb(s). Knowing what I knew of Olmert before the kidnappings, I would not have expected him to act as aggressively as he did after the kidnappings (for those criticizing him for not ramping things up - look at the 72 hours after the kidnappings - he erased a lot of doubts and showed he had a good grasp on the Israeli psyche).

Considering Hezbollah has been hitting civilian targets left and right and have placed much of their offensive weapons and military among willing Lebanese citizens (who also voted Hezbollah a third of the government offices)...
Hell yes, it's a real war, don't exclude targets for any reason in this case.
The Lebanese are participants, not innocent in any of this from all I've been reading and hearing.
