I have to wonder if Mel Gibson was under the influence of something other than alcohol.

What I read of this episode demonstrates rather bizarre behavior on his part. I would not suppose that it is just alcohol.

Perhaps he puled the old "Do you know who I am trick?" and the police officer then provoked him on the Passion film or something such as that.

It seems a way over the top tirade. Then again, I ain't no cop, so I ain't seen all that they do.

True. We only heard the words of Mel. Perhaps the officer said something provoking and Mel asked him, 'are you Jewish'? And Mel continued to mouth off. It's easy to push a drunk's buttons.
