You know, there should be consequences. If I brought a friend to a party, and the friend proceeded to get slobbering drunk, hit on the host's wife, and puke all over the clean white carpet, his behavior as my guest would reflect poorly on me. I would certainly owe the host a profuse apology for my guest's conduct. When an elected official gives a ticket to an event like a joint session of Congress, he is saying, "This person is my guest, and I vouch for his or her good behavior." That's just plain and simple manners. And it's a darned shame that Owens will face absolutely no consequences whatsoever for his poor judgment.
