It didn't take long for this to pop up..
Hezbollah supporters place a banner showing US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and reading in Arabic: "The massacre of children in Qana 2, is the gift of Rice. The clever bombs..Stupid," in downtown Beirut. Israel agreed to temporarily halt air strikes in south Lebanon a day after 52 people were killed, many of them sleeping children, when Israeli warplanes bombarded the Lebanese village of Qana, triggering global outrage and warnings of retribution for alleged "war crimes".(AFP/Ramzi Haidar)

Good Morning.
Air strikes continue. Looks like the apartment building "bombing" was faked. Ground ops moving forward. Should be an interesting day.

Any chance we could have two separate threads...one for mideast hard news only, and one for commentary/news? This might make it easier on people trying to just get updates.

AP via JPost:
Belgian police were investigating a letter threatening attacks against El Al airlines that was found at the Brussels international airport over the weekend, a police spokeswoman said Monday.
"I can confirm we found a letter in a toilet room of the Zaventem airport on Sunday," said federal police spokeswoman Evie Claes. She did not give more details on the letter.
The El Al office in Belgium said it had been informed of the letter but had no comment to make.
"It's a letter we've heard was found in the toilets, but we don't know anything else about it," said an official at the El Al office in Brussels, speaking on condition of anonymity. She said the airline was well-guarded and was continuing operations as usual.

Bill Moyer, August 1982 about the PLO withdrawal from Lebanon
"Watching scenes of the Beirut evacuation this weekend, I was struck by how it is possible for the cameras to magnify a lie. These Palestinian troops left town as if they'd just won a great victory. Arafat, they praised as a conquering hero. In fact, they are leaving town in defeat.
And in fact, Arafat led them to this cul-de-sac where they made their last stand behind the skirts of women and among the playgrounds of children. The only victory they won was to give General Sharon an excuse for total war and so to bring upon Israel the condemnation of world opinion and to many Jews, a tormented conscience. But the world was condemning Israel even before Beirut, and will for time to come. And the anguish of Jews at the suffering caused by their own war machine comes from the bitter experience of having learned that those who die by the sword must live by the sword.
Carnage, indeed, and no one's hand too clean. But it could have been otherwise if Arafat and his allies accepted the reality of Israel, if they had not established within Lebanon a terrorist state sworn to Israel's destruction, and if Arab governments had not found it useful to nurture the PLO in the bloody illusion that Israel can one day be pushed into the sea. Argue as you might about the events leading up to the establishment of Israel. Weep as you must for the Palestinian refugees. But a fact is a fact, and Israel is a fact. Yet, the guerrillas leaving Beirut this week are vowing to fight on until victory. Well, there will be no peace in the Middle East until the Arabs stop asking their young men to die for a lie."

Oh Lord I pray that you will reveal to Israel the source of these rockets and other weapons while they are in the heat of this battle, that they may eliminate them too.
