U.N. PWNED
I may be wrong...but I haven't sensed or heard any backdown by President Bush re: backing Israel's war.
Peretz: IDF will expand ground offensive
By SHEERA CLAIRE FRENKEL, YAAKOV KATZ AND AP
Israel must not agree to an immediate cease-fire, but rather expand and strengthen its attacks on Hizbullah, Defense Minister Amir Peretz told an emergency session of the Knesset on Monday.

it's from an article in Ha'aretz. It isn't an Olmert speech...
'Hizbullah has only few launchers left'

The IDF assessed on Monday that Hizbullah's rocket launching capability was significantly compromised by the fighting that took place in the past three weeks.
It was estimated that, while the organization still has hundreds of rockets with a sufficient range to reach Afula and Haifa, there were only a number of launchers remaining with launching capability.

I must say Olmert has me eating my words, I hope he means it.
Interesting that Olmert used the word "offensive"...since the "media" has used the "Israel is defending itself"..as an "excuse" in their minds..that somehow gives them a "rationalization"..
Otherwise...I feel that the MEDIA would be coming down HARD on Israel...harder than some already are.
I wonder if the use of "offensive" will set them off??
It makes ME feel better...because Israel has to be on the offensive..that is the only think that the Hezzies will think twice about..Israel taking the offense...BOOM!!!
The freelance journalist,Ghaith Abdul-Ahad, that wrote the Guardian article about Hezbollah http://www.guardian.co.uk/syria/story/0,,1832931,00.html is a very brave person. Here is another article about Falluja
http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,2763,1246771,00.html
Here's what i hope happens - Israel will now take it into high gear, and it will be brutal and lethal, southern lebanon will be in ruins, Hizbullah's capacity to wage war against Israel (not just in southern lebanon but everywhere including Beirut and the Bekka) will no longer exist. And then Israel will leave.
This is the model we should have taken in Iraq. This whole create democracy in the ME is crap. Move in, crush the enemy with overwhelming force, take away their capacity to make war, scorched earth policy Stalin style and then leave. By sticking around you play right into their hands. One day after Washinton DC, New York, London or TelAviv is on the wrong end of a mushroom cloud, this is how we will conduct war.
New tagline.

Peretz: IDF will expand ground offensive
Meanwhile a new mosque is about to open in a prominent location in the Iranian area of Los Angeles, aka "The Persian Gulf." Many Iranian Jews live in this area; I don't know where their synagogue is...
Yes, Devil Dog brought that up, too in

No, I don't. But if they would stop apologizing, they could do a better job of it.
Yet.
I believe the article is linked in post #666.
Heh heh.
"Egypt`s Mubarak warns entire Mideast peace process could collapse (Reuters"
Don't you love it! Arabs just never can seem to tell the truth. The truth is that Mubarak sees that the "peace plan", by which Israel would gradually be reduced to nothing, is not going to happen.
IDF intelligence unit manages to hack al-Manar broadcast, plant caricature of Hizbullah's leader with caption: 'Your days are numbered'

Very important and make sure you read 2nd paragraph:
Mine exploded Sunday near Israel-Syria border
A landmine exploded on the Syrian side of the Israel-Syria border on Sunday, the Israel Defense Forces confirmed Monday.
Military officials said the incident may have been an attempt by Hizbullah to drag Syria to the conflict with Israel. (Hanan Greenberg)
