IDF apologizes for botched strike
By JPOST.COM STAFF
The IDF issued an apology to the Lebanese army on Monday after killing one of its officers and two of its soldiers in an airstrike, stressing that the soldiers were not the target of the attack.
After declaring a 48-hour suspension of aerial strikes over Lebanon in wake of the Kana attack, the IAF fired missiles at a car suspected to have been carrying a senior Hizbullah official.
The target of the attack, the IDF said, was apparently not in the car, as it drove near the coastal city of Tyre.
The official, whose name the IDF refused to divulge, was, the military said, involved in direct terror attacks against Israel and posed an imminent threat.
Israel stressed that the temporary cessation of airstrikes for 48 hours, which begun at 2 a.m., did not apply to imminent threats.
The Israel Defense Forces buried in Israel the bodies of 10 Hizbullah terrorists killed in fighting in southern Lebanon.
The bodies were laid to rest in a military cemetery for fallen enemy soldiers. (Hanan Greenberg)
Is this the same story as the mention of boming a general?
Then it's old news already. CNN trying to stir things up with the implication that it just happened?

It serves as a stark warning for the Lebanese military to stay away from the battle...and clarifies that the Israelis will give no quarter to the aggressor that caused it.
To my maybe chagrin, I thought it was one in the same.
It may be!
I don't bash Condi..though this is concerning..

One of her assistants is saying basically- underplay the role of Iran in Hizballah.
Indeed. Siniora played his cards and gave his chips to Nasrallah. He's fair game now.
IIRC, the article said there was a temporary morgue nearby.
Of course. But no one not utterly loyal to Hezb'allah is going to get anywhere near those bodies would be my guess.
But a good forensics guy will be able to tell more than you or I or most reporters from the pics.
