No way. I saw it last night and it did not. They do not translate the scene where the high priest talks about letting Christ's blood be on him and his children,etc.etc.

re: Did it (Passion) slam the Jews?)))

Some of the villains were Jews, some were Romans, and one was supernatural.

But all the heroes were Jews. Maybe that's what really frosted them...

No, if any ethnicity got slammed it was the Romans...

And Pontius Pilate is portrayed as a weasel, not in a sympathetic manner, contrary to to some neagtive reviews.

Only in the sense that the Christian bible "slams the Jews."

Gibson relied on a particularly controversial and critical source for his version of the Passion--it was a vision by a 19th century German nun. There were many other sources, including the Gospel, that would not have raised the same questions.

When he went to promote the film, Gibson talked up a Jewish conspiracy to keep the film from being made and distributed, which turned out to be false. He also made up a favorable quote by John Paul II, "It is as it was", which was denied by the Vatican.

His drunken confessions have a shed a lot of light on past behavior that, at the time, people excused because he was doing a good deed by bringing the Passion story to life for movie viewers and they did not want to believe that his motivations could be so clouded.
