Democratic Generosity
The American Spectator ^ | 7/26/2006 | Lisa Fabrizio

Can the Democrats and their liberal wing do us any more favors? In the 2000 presidential race they ran an incumbent vice-president from a Southern state and were beaten by the narrowest of margins. In what some viewed as a conservative national tilt in 2002, they lost their Senate majority giving control of two branches of government over to the GOP.

In response they gave us uber-liberal Nancy Pelosi as the House Minority Leader. Failing to adjust their game-plan, they next sent John Kerry to the plate -- ignoring his lifetime American Conservative Union batting average of 5% as opposed to Al Gore's 14.6% -- which led to an even bigger defeat in the 2004 Fall Classic.

After the '04 election, they discovered via exit polls that "values" issues had carried the day for President Bush. The result? Howard Dean took the reins and he and his netroots pals pulled that donkey hard left. And now the Daily Kos bunch is making a major play for legitimacy within the party despite the fact that the horses they've backed are 0 for 20.

Although there are predictions of doom and gloom for the GOP this November, it is the Democrats who face a fork in the road. And right now that road wends its way through the sometimes bucolic paths of Connecticut. At stake is the incumbency of its junior senator, Joe Lieberman.

Connecticut may be a Democratic state, but like its big blue brothers, New York, Massachusetts and California, it has a Republican governor. The reason for this seems to reflect the desire of some Democrats to be nurtured by the nanny state yet governed by a daddy. This also demonstrates that some of them still have at least an iota of the sense with which they were born.

Good piece.

I know it's been said here 24/7 but it's true: The Dems are driven by only one thing now, and that's hatred for Bush. They don't even have a party position on the war the country is fighting--some don't even think we ARE fighting a war.

How rudderless can you get?

I only hope that their crazy liberals gain control of the rat party,so they can fight over who is the most devoted communist, while the grownups(the few we have in the Republican party)fight the terrorist pigs and stave off the barbarians at the gate.

Here in one of our State Senate districts just south of mine we have a terrific conservative Republican running and his Dem opponent after the Dem runoff looks to be a Dem who worked in the Clinton White House and a year in the NY office of Hillary (brags about it), endorsed by the Sierra Club and a Gay group and advocates socialized medicine not to mention he is running in a split rural/urban district and brags he doesn't know anything about rural issues and not about to learn.

Seems to be the new breed of Dem running here in OK which is amazing. We look to pick up a seat that has never gone Republican as most of the district Dems are yellow dog Dems and this guy is way too liberal for them.

Important to note that the Senate was evenly split (with VP Cheney holding a decisive tiebreaker vote) after the 2000 election, until Jumpin' Joe Jeffers, Turncoat, Vermont decided that he would rather run as a Republican, but get the juice promised him by the Democrats.

The subsequent election confirmed and enlarged the Republican majority in the Senate.

I laughed so hard reading that line my eyes watered. Perfect!

The more I've been reading history--an area I've been shamefully neglecting in my reading--the more I realize the Dems are socialists. I used to believe that, but now I KNOW it.

A friend moved to OK four years ago, and it's nice to see that the mission I started (to turn her from liberal to conservative) is being completed down there--her boss was approached by the Republican party to run for the Senate. (He declined, making too much $$$ on his own business.)

I hope we all wake up in time to realize how freakin crazy the Democrats are. I NEVER thought I would become as conservative as I am. Facts will do that to ya!

The more I learn about them, from their own words(especially when it's "just them",like on DU),the more I realise that they're treacherous snakes who are waiting for the chance to sell this country down the river to the highest bidder-be it Islamopigs, gays, the UN,whatever...what I haven't yet figured out is,WHY? Why do they hate this country so badly? And since they do,why not move? I hope that America has a few good decades left before this once "shining hope" dims and dies forever. I'd think that until that day, they couldn't take living here.

Except that's not how it really works. The further left the Dems go, the more the GOP moves to the left in an attempt to gather up disaffected Democrats.

The overpaid trust-fund babies in charge of our party's message always take the conservative vote for granted and figure the way to get more votes is to move left.

hat I haven't yet figured out is,WHY? Why do they hate this country so badly?

Chris Matthews and HRC are perfect examples of the mindset, and your answer lies there.

They do not love what this country IS but rather what they were taught it COULD be under the Wilson/FDR ideals.

Imagine if you were brought up to believe there was a land where everyone was happy, the greedy were punished, the poor fed, and everyone got to do what they wanted.

Then you were pushed out into that world, and instead of it being this fantasyland you saw it for what it was--namely, it was a land where OTHER rules applied--the very rules you were taught were bad.

In this land, people WORKED for what they got--they didn't "just get it".

People had to PAY for what they wanted.

People (worst of all) had IFFERENT IDEAS than you did about right and wrong. (This is the key to the lie of multiculturalism; Libs like people to LOOOK different as long as they THINK the same.)

And all of these things are cast in a negative light, because you've been brought up to see these things not as those who live by them see them.

They see hard work that builds character; you see slavery.

They see faith in God; you see foolish belifs that take people away from The Truth. ,p>etc. etc.

Libs hate this country because they see it as a corruption of what it SHOULD be. They see it as you would if you woke one morning and found the US had gone Naiz...or Muslim.

Thanks for the explanation. I still don't understand what they think the percentage is,in siding with blatant enemies of America, such as terrorists, though. I can't understand how anyone could be so blind and foolish as to not see the obvious-they want to kill you,cut off your head,or at best enslave you.How can they not understand that? We don't even have to read between the lines to know it,the terrorist Islamopigs said it in black and white!

Great line on the liberal take on the curse of multiculturalism!

Libs like people to LOOOK different as long as they THINK the same.

In the words of Dr. Thomas Sowell, "University faculties promote "diversity", which means that the members of the student body should all look different...and think exactly as their professors do."

The next time the simpletons start ranting about there being no difference between Republicans and Demonrats, you should sent them over to the DUck room to read what they have to say about the current news.

After an hour of reading their insane babble of ideas, they will never again doubt the vast differences...lol

That was a great article.

I didn't realize that Lamont used to be a Republican. Just goes to show how complete the BDS is among the Nutroots that they would throw in with him to "punish" LIEberman ;'}
