Presidents should not use swear words Sunday, July 30, 2006
President Bush has caught a lot of flak lately. In spite of that, Ive defended most of his actions. Not anymore.
When I was 9, I picked up the fourletter "s" word from a young friend, being careful not to say it within earshot of Mom. But one day I slipped up, and I still remember that physical rebuke.
Apparently, Bush slipped up similarly before an open mike ("Foreigners fleeing Lebanon," Associated Press article, July 18).
A president who uses that word in ordinary conversation is no longer a good leader in my eyes.
I cant imagine Ronald Reagan using that word. Its childish.

Remember what the moral one, Jimmy Carter said about Ted Kennedy: "I'm going to beat his ass."
And he made sure that it was published for all to read, too.

Good grief Francis, grow up.

Just wondering what this idiot thinks about a president who is a rapist and a serial adulterer.

I suspect Morrison never supported GW in anything. This is a DU tactic - and they're the most foul-keyboarded people on the planet, if you've ever ventured in there.

"A president who uses that word in ordinary conversation is no longer a good leader in my eyes." Nice criteria there, Francis.

I thought that in Texas, "s**t" was not a swear word, but rather the standard technical term for the substance in question.

Of course some presidents
become swear words.
When I caught my kids lying I'd tell them to "Stop being a Clinton".

A president who uses that word in ordinary conversation is no longer a good leader in my eyes.If that's how this guy evaluates leadership, he wouldn't make a good follower or leader. But he might make a fine first grade assistant teacher.
