I'm an American, not an Israeli, so there's no way I can critisize how the Israeli's choose to respond to such atrocities. My own impulse is to say that maybe part of Israel's public relations problem -- and everyone from the Israeli Prime Minister to Ollie North this morning on Fox News acknowledges that problem -- is that they don't, as you put it, "make a soap opera out of it."
If it were up to me, I would publish as many horrifying photos of dead Israelis, particularly children, as I could find so that people around the world could see the horror and suffering. I would bluntly and unflinchingly show the world what bombs loaded with nails and ball bearings and rat poison does to a human body, particularly the bodies of small children. I wouldn't hide the effects or sweep them quickly from the scene and then just go on with my life.
But then again, I'm not an Israeli, so I don't know Israeli custom and proclivities in such matters. And before you leap to an incorrect conclusion, Alouette, I think EXACTLY the same way about American dead slaughtered by the Islamofacists monsters. I have searched (in vain, unfortunately) for photos of the bodies of people who jumped from the World Trade Center on 9/11/01. Here on FR, I once posted a thread of the most graphic photos of 9/11/01 as I could find -- not to "make a soap opera out of it," but because I firmly believe we need to know the brutal truth, not some sanitized version of it.
I know many people do not share my opinion, and I respect their point of view. I don't insult them because their point of view is different from my own (or at least I don't unless they give me other reasons to do so).
In any war, there are people who want to sanitize the truth and those who want to reveal it in all it's ugliness. During WWII, many people outside Germany knew of the death camps. Ship loads of Jewish people were turned away from sanctuary in the United States. Most of those ships returned to Germany, where the people were taken to the death camps. Roosevelt, Churchill, and many others averted their eyes from what was happening in the death camps.
Today, there are many who deny the Holocost ever happened. With the slogan "never again,"Israel was born out of the horrors of Nazi Germany. So, sorry, but I don't understand the impulse to "not make a soap opera out of it," which I interpret as sanitizing the truth.
As for the children of Qaran, they are Lebanese and they are victims of the Hezbollah wing of radical Islamofacism. I want people to see the unvarnished truth that results from Islamofacist hate, because only then might we finally break out of our stupor and wipe it out once and for all.
I challenge any FReeper to show how anything I have posted can possibly be construed as a "celebration" of the deaths of the innocent victims in this sad situation. I also challenge many FReepers to learn to think instead of just emoting and to place the blame for the deaths where it really belongs.
I consider this to be far more than just a disagreement among FRiends for me [and others] to be singled out by KOS as a "potential killer" whom they intend to stalk. Others will have to decide for themselves how they feel about it. I consider it a potential threat to my safety and do not fully trust the sanctity and anonimity of the FRee Republic site. It is, and has always been, the liberals who kill dissenters ... not the conservatives who simply do not have the nerve to do such a thing.
This thread, in general with its well meaning compassion babble theme played right into the hands of the Western media, the propagandists and the enemy.
Apparently those of us who have been singled out by Daily Kos have really hit a nerve and have caused them to panic about being exposed for the lying propagandists they really are.
Perhaps a comment or two from Rush's program today might be informative. He said that we are living in a morally inverted universe and that he is surprised at how easily duped people are by these deliberately staged photographs. He describes the Western media as "willing dupes or worse".
I have been called countless names in the year I have posted on FRee Republic. Other FReepers have made it clear that I am not welcome at FRee Republic. Now might be a good time for me to leave.

I used to post on several islamic forums and had just about every threat aimed at me that you could imagine, along with swine stalking me from forum to forum. I saw it as a kind of rating system... if one day went by without threats, email nasties, or viral jihad in my inbox, I knew I was slacking in my duty to bring them the truth they didn't want to hear.
So stick around... consider it something like a baptism of fire. You've finally made the club. ;o)

Just like days earlier when Hezballah attempted to use UN workers as shields, they continue to use women and children in an attempt to influence public opinion and gain sympathy. Of course our ENEMEDIA is all too willing to assist the terrorists in making them appear as though they are the victims.
Hezballah needs to be wiped off the face of the earthy and I pray Israel will not back down until that is accomplished!
