IDF May Not Have Caused Kana Deaths
Arutz Sheva ^ | July 30, 2006

Posted on 07/30/2006 11:25:31 AM PDT by West Coast Conservative

Senior IDF officers told reporters a short time ago that there is a contradiction in the timing of the bombing of the village of Kana and reports of the explosion that killed more than 50 civilians and set off world-wide condemnation of Israel. Air Force Commander Amir Eshel left open the possibility that Hizbullah terrorists blew up the building or that an unknown cause set off explosives which were stored in the structure.

He explained that recorded information shows that Israeli Air Force planes bombed the building between midnight and 1 a.m. and that the next attack at 7:30 a.m. was up to 500 yards away. He said reports of the killing of civilians came around 8 a.m. "It is not clear what happened" between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m., he said.

Brigadier General Ido Nehushtan pointed out that Hizbullah terrorists have fired more than 150 rockets from the village of Kana since the beginning of the war.

If true that 85-percent of the Lebanonese people voted FOR Hezbolla in the latest polls, then I am OK with 85-percent of the Lebanese people being killed in this war.

Slightly different than your average Lebanese person trying to get along with their lives.

You're not serious!?! They were warned to get out. (One would think two weeks of all-out war would be a clue.) If you life and you family's life were at stake what would you be waiting for? a limosine?

Obviously they were human shields...a tactic well-known to the cowardly Arabs.

I disagree with you that all of Lebanon is a legitimate military target. It has had no discernible impact on the number of missiles fired into Israel at all. I would agree that any trucks bringing more missiles in are clearly military targets, but where is the moral position for asking people to leave an area and then bombing them when they do? Israel has tied themselves in a knot that they cannot untie militarily. The shame is that they have made Hezbollah look strong by continuing to look inept as a military force. I predict that the Israeli minister of defense will be fired or resign soon. This is an unmitigated disaster for Israel militarily, politically and strategically.

In Islam there can be no greater reward than martyrdom. The perfect martyr, or ash-shahidu, has either been slain in a religious war or slain unjustly. There is no wailing over the kids who died (except in the West where no one should ever die), because they have received a blessed reward.

Come on. So many of you are so quick to apologize for Israel's actions. Call it what it is, a tragic accident, stop making excuses and propogandizing worse than the Israelis themselves.

Your words

PROPAGANDIZING WORSE THAN THE ISRAELI'S THEMSELVES

Enough said about how you view things

Or call it by it's rightful name "War."

Civilians die in wars.

Disagree all you want. Hizb,Allah didn't get 13,000 rockets into Lebanon in secret or without help. Help like the communications services the Lebanese Army has been supplying the last two weeks. The people of Kana couldn't have missed the 100+ Katusha's being fired from their little hilltop town either. Sleep with terrorists, die with terrorists. Kill them all.

...when Israelis themselves apologize for what they term a tragic mistake,

It seems to me that Israeli's are apologizing for being forced into taking out "civilian" buildings ... rather than admitting (by their apology) that they did something wrong.

The world must continue to insist that the Hezbolla terrorists stop hiding their weapons and rockets inside civilian homes. (not that it will do any good)

we should move on cause accidents happen, but don't try to re-write history

No one, including the Israelis, has all of the facts in on this yet. So it is ridiculous to say that Freepers are attempting to rewrite history with respect to this incident. You on the other hand might want to refrain from pre-writing history until you actually know what happened.

"I disagree with you that all of Lebanon is a legitimate military target."

Anywhere Hezbollah rockets are located are legitimate targets.

These are the kind of sick, deranged, perverted posts I was referring to. You really need help

What if Lebanon's army joins Hizbullah?--It will become complicit with terrorism

So, what part of Lebanon isn't a legitimate target in the WOT now? /rhetorical question

"Those people" well may have been being herded into position and blown to pieces by Hizbolah.

Exactamundo!

I recently read that 95-percent of Hezbollah fighters are NOT even Lebanese, and thus could care less about local civilians.

The only thing driving Hezbollah is their blinding hatred for Israel and the West.

The population is almost 4 million... So, you'd like to see 3.5 million people die in this war? A large majority voted for Hitler, would you have like to see them wiped out too?

First of all, 85% DIDN'T vote for the Hezzies. Secondly, you know how strong the propoganda is there, how many of them were mis-informed?

If you think it's not possible, look at how many Americans fall for the Dem lies here, hook line and sinker, and we're in a democracy.

If Hezbollah are allowed to use civilians as shields, and we are not allowed to respond when they fire rockets from civilian areas, you have pretty much lost the war and given up all of our liberty. The terrorists win, civilization loses.

Enjoy Sharia law.

I have been watching a CNN report on Hizb,Allah all morning. Ordinary Lebanese civilians love Hizb,Allah. Shop keepers hand out free pics of Nasrallah their hero. A woman and her five children pledge their lives to Hizb,Allah because they rebuilt her house. Story after story of "ordinary" Lebanese civilians who just love them.
