Ah yes... make it even more difficult to use Free Republic as a source for breaking news... You expect us to read through a few thousand posts to find out the latest.
It is easier to got to other sites to learn the news. If you get your way.. it is way to hard for people to know what is going on in this world Free Republic, we will have to find a site that allows breaking news.

That is exactly what I've always thought about those long running threads.
I fully support compilation threads and bump lists....but the long running threads where everyone keeps new information aren't functional.
Unfortunately, I agree. I have had posts of REAL stories pulled because a live thead had already mentioned a particular fact. ("Duplicate Post- See reply #713 on LIVE THREAD")
I am finding that it is much easier to go to other sites to find up to date stories. Coming back after a long July 4 weekend, I saw that the one of the top "Breaking News" stories of that WEDNESDAY was "Sunday Morning Talk Show Thread." UGH!

Thanks for your "mentoring" many of us over the years to post each article and in its enterity if possible.
That makes it easier daily or weekly with the key words to find new news.
Also, for anyone doing research on these events in the future, the keywords, indexing and separate postings make it easier to find and document what was posted during certain events.
