It won't end for a while yet but it looks to me like Hezballah wins this round. The Israelis pulled their punches and even so the world is ready to rein them in. The Israeli PM was sold on an air campaign by his Air Force and that doesn't defeat guerillas.
Too soon to tell.
Your point about the military plan of Israel not being sufficient is a bit seperate from the diplomatic dance, I think.
It mostly depends...the diplomacy so-called...on whether the rest of the world is prepared to let Iran, through Hezbollah, take over Lebanon. Because that really appears to be what is happening, when you back off and take a look at the big picture.
I don't think Bush is prepared to let that happen, but will he have any Allies?
"The Israeli PM was sold on an air campaign by his Air Force and that doesn't defeat guerillas."
How 'bout if they use bunker busters?
I agree with you.I don't believe that Israel did them any damage. They killed some of them but that does not accomplish anything because they are like an anthill. You can kill a thousand of them today and by tomorrow they will all be replaced. You have got to cut off the head [in the case of the anthill, kill the queen] if you are going to kill them [destroy the anthill].
President Bush should keep Rice in Washington D.C.
If Israel stops now, they will pay a high price in blood in the near future if they stop now.
The U.S. should be a lesson for them. We did nothing when they blew up our embassies, troop barricka, and warship. This non action resulted in the attacka upon the World Trade Center and Pentegon.
