Recently, the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, Inc. (MCDC), and our fiduciary accountability has been called into question in reports in the Washington Times newspaper. Its editors continue to misrepresent the facts and have purposely based their reports and editorials on information that is inaccurate.
They continue in their attempt to hold us to a different and improperly applied fiduciary standard than any other non-profit in the country. Jerry Seper and Wes Pruden seem not to understand the first, most basic matters of non-profit accounting and regulatory obligation. Further, Pruden absurdly describes Sepers reporting as careful, rigorous when Seper has not spoken to at least two of his three sources on this matter in over a year, and he and his editors deliberately failed to disclose in their innuendos regarding where our money is spent, that tens of thousands of dollars was spent on full-page issues advocacy advertising in the Washington Times itself.
A year ago, people called us racists and vigilantes. We have overcome those falsehoods with an organizational performance of diligence, responsibility and excellent stewardship of the resources entrusted to us by our supporters and volunteers. Our careful spending and high standards in the field, combined with the generosity and faithfulness of our citizen patriot supporters, have allowed us to grow rapidly and effectively, consistent with our mission. This has been accomplished, in part, by aggressive advertising and outreach to people across the country, putting a spotlight on the state of lawlessness at our wide-open borders which our government continues to tolerate......."[snip]
".... The leadership of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps and its officers continue to have full faith and confidence in American Caging, Inc., who acts as our comptroller, and in our other accountability and legal professionals..........."

Or that the Fed are spending $128,000 a person for National Guardsmen to do what volunteers are doing at their own personal expense.
Or that the DEA has released factual reports saying drug smuggling has been reduced where the Minutemen were operating.
The folks that want the minutemen gone are the same ones who disputed that the BP and State Department was sharing intelligence on their operations with the Mexican authorities.
If the Republicans are so concerned about keeping congress, they need to act to keep up with their rhetoric.
You complain about MMDC fundraising operations; tell us how much the Republican Party spends on fundraising ops.
I get much more junk mail from them, all claiming an interest in border security; most from Elizabeth Dole, Frist and McCain. They do not represent my interests. Especially the Senate.
It would help if you made your defense of Simcox without trying to smear those who are asking questions about his "business" practices.
And do I need to point out that it's members of his OWN organization who have made these accusations?
I suspect that the RNC is getting more bang for its buck than the Greene/Diener/Sheldon/Zodihates groups give their customers.
And also were predicting all kinds of Minuteman-spawned violence. And saying they would have no impact. Did they ever retract those statements? Not that I've ever seen. And if Simcox does submit the disclosures and does build a fair amout of fence, I doubt any of them will have the wherewithall to apologize. They'll just wait for the next opportunity to attack.
I see two critics of Simcox on these threads. Those that have reasonable concerns, make a post or two, and then go on to other subjects, such as Nick did here (and surprise, Nick is one of the posters I regularly read when he posts). And those who have their own agendas that they are too dishonest to state, and who move from line of attack to line of attack, re-using each one on a daily basis.
And do I need to point out that it's former members of his OWN organization who have made these accusations. And we all know former members never have an axe to grind.
He is responding in kind.
And how many (R) candidates do they handle?
Howlin, I have seen the accusations myself on FR. You have not made them that I have seen, and I do not see you posting 24x7 on these threads. Although we differ on border issues, I don't think you are over-the-top here. Other folks are.
And do I need to point out that it's members of his OWN organization who have made these accusations?
Mostly former members with an axe to grind. A lot of anti-freepers make scurrilous charges against JimRob. Do those charges carry weight because they were once freepers?
If Simcox either misses the November 15th deadline or published financials well out of line with accepted fundraising to mission spending ratios, I will join in the chorus of critics. But until then, I see a lot of opportunism and innuendo from several people with suspect agendas.
100% correct.
BTW, that agenda that they won't admit is Simcox's ties with Keyes.
Did you SEE the video? I did; and it wasn't Freepers; it was people who had worked with him making the first accusations.
But until then, I see a lot of opportunism and innuendo from several people with suspect agendas.
And I see people who are making a living asking for dubious donations doing a lot of personal attacks.
Not you. And I am NOT talking about the legitimate Minutemen. I'm speaking solely about the "fence" deal and the money Simcox has been collecting.
DB, you know how many times this site has been used by shysters to get money.
When this all started a month ago, I called the AZ representatives from MMDC. Your insinuation that it's current members/volunteers that are upset with Simcox is wrong. They have seen repeated spin cycles by folks who are anti-minutemen, anti-border security attempt to smear anyone who cares. You do recall the President called them "vigilantes" when he was in Tucson in March 05. They have a reason not to disclose information about their organization. When a standing President misrepresents your group you kind of expect the continual sliming. That does not bode well for openness and transparency.
The only reason they are FORMER is because they asked questions and either didn't get answers or he fired them.
Try not to insult the rest of us; we've been here a long time and we know how this stuff goes.
Let me clue you in on something:
After reading your posts on this, I don't believe one word you post.
The reasons they are former has been answered by the MMDC. Why keep bringing it up? Why keep repeating it?
Are you kidding? That's all they talk about.
Namely why Keyes' organizations spend millions of dollars on direct mailing and only donate 5 cents out of EVERY DOLLAR to any "project" they participate in.
Not as many as you think. I have been tracking that down through the FEC statements. It appears they were involved heavely in the Lewis race in the West Virgina Primary. That whole race was ludricous. They are also involved quite heavely in one primary race out west in which I am looking at now. But looking the the FEC statement it does not appear that many R's use them
And you can prove this, correct!
You can prove that none of these former minutemen have an axe to grind and they were all fired because of asking questions about the finances?
BTW, your statement also describes hundreds of former FReepers.
And I also know how many power structure wannabee former members level attacks at JimRob.
We both can point to history to bolster our positions. I will take the position that Simcox had better do three things:
Meet the November 15th deadline,
Get some fencing built unless local governments clearly prevent him from doing such, and
Show a mission spending to fundraising ratio over two-thirds (preferably over 3/4ths).
Until then, I will withhold final judgement.
That's a given. It takes a little experience to recognize the players without a program.
