Dean Says Democrats Will End Iraq Problem
ABC News ^ | July 29 2006

Posted on 07/29/2006 2:05:06 PM PDT by jmc1969

As he campaigned for Republicans running for Congress in West Virginia, President George W. Bush confidently predicted that his party will retain control of Congress — but with his approval ratings mired in the 30s, gas prices topping $3, war spreading in the Middle East and Iraq in turmoil, some in the GOP are nervous.

Democratic leaders, say that they would bring an end to the U.S. presence in the war-torn nation.

"The first thing I think we would do is have a real strategy for how to get out of Iraq," said Howard Dean, the chairman of the Democratic National Committee and former presidential candidate, on ABC News' "Good Morning America Weekend Edition." "We don't need a president who says they're going to leave this to the next president. That's not leadership. It's the kind of thing that got us in there in the first place with no plan."

Although Dean said Democrats would do a better job with Iraq, the public now favors Republicans over Democrats in handling terrorism by seven percentage points, according to the ABC poll.

Sure. And the Dimocrats' solution will begin like all their solutions do: raise taxes on the "wealthy" and redistribute the wealth to the "needy"

Oh yeah and then they will blather on about how they have a plan without actually mentioning what that plan is (of course it depends on what the definition of what the word 'is' is)

Um, I'm sure the wily reporter from GMA responded to Mr. Howler Dean with the question: "And what, exactly, is that strategy?"

But I suppose ABC (and the rest of the MSM) is satisfied with the "trust me" type of campaigning.

If Kerry had been elected the terrorists would have attacked the U.S. several more times since 9/11/01, killing hundreds of thousands of Americans with biological, chemical, and perhaps nuclear weapons. The Democrats would run and hide, but 9/11/01 shows we can't hide. The solution is to go kill as many terrorists as possible, as fast as possible. The Democrats' "solution" is to cut and run or "negotiate" with terrorists. If it were up to Democrats, the USSR and the Cold War would still exist, and Saddam Hussein would still be torturing, murdering, and providing chemicals to terrorists such as those used to bomb the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya killing a few hundred people. Democrat is another word for moron.

Tell Americans the real reason why gas prices are high.

I don't think pointing to the flood of debt (public and private) under his administration is going to win many friends.

Correctamundo. They'll send BJ Clinton and Algore over and within hours all sides will give up by committing suicide.

O, I dunno. I have to agree with him. Iraq won't be the problem. By the time they're done, we'll be fighting in the streets of Boise, Idaho.

I live in a bubble--Oklahoma--isolated from the rest of the country. Although we have a drought here, life is good, we're prospering, we're drilling for oil and gas, we've got jobs, and we're eating well. We love President Bush and want to keep winning the war against the terrorists.

But I know that I live in a bubble. In the rest of America, people are melancholy over not paying enough taxes if they're lucky enough to find work. Most are starving and homeless and hopelessly unemployed. They'd go to Oklahoma if they could afford it and they knew how great we've got it, but their credit cards are maxed out and they can't afford a car or spare the money for gasoline to make the trip. They fall victim to incessant handbills of enemy propaganda promising peace, land, and bread if only we surrender to the terrorists and elect Democrats. Life is miserable and a great malaise has spread through the land. Violent gunmen occasionally go on rampages through the Hooverville-style shantytowns that now dot the American landscape. The overwhelming majority of Americans are desperately poor and deeply indebted to massive oligopolistic banking conglomerates that own nearly everything.

Everyone despises Bush and sees him as the root of all their problems because they prospered mightily during the Clinton era. Is this really how bad things are in the rest of America?

"We leave. Iran and the Baathists split Iraq. Kurds get killed. If Saddam hasn't been executed yet he is freed. Islamic violence and justice rule the land. But we are able to stop the Islamist wave sweeping the world at Okinawa. See, no problems"

Yup.
Will make what Pol Pot did look like the Boys Scouts.

You have forgotten the peace dividend. The Democrats will freeze the military budget and feed more money to the UN.

Larry Elder plays this statement often on his radio program:

If we had a 3 word message, it would be "We can do better"-- Howard Dean

Yeah, I picked up on that, too....
The first thing would be to GET a strategy, right Howie?
They never HAVE a strategy, they like to complain about the current strategy, but ask 'em if they have a CLUE as to what to do and how to do it better? Yeah, they'll just go GET a strategy....
What amazes me is that they continue to line up the votes. You gotta wonder about the average IQ of the voter who is buying this load of bull.
