Has this been put on Free Republic before? I searched but didn't find anything. Maybe it should be a separate thread???
Xerox is sending free cards to our soldiers in Iraq!
If you go to this web site, www.letssaythanks.com , you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You cant pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services. How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! This is a great site. Please send a card. It is FREE and it only takes a second. Wouldnt it be wonderful if the soldiers (and Marines) received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our guys and gals over there need to know we are behind them... |

If they are God fearing and patriotic, they are no longer DemonRATS, IMHO.
A lot around like that --just plain too stupid to change parties
See them all they time
Very maddening

Sure are LOTS of issues swirling around Murtha, aren't there! Including that one.

Time to send some cash to Diana Irey. If How_Weird is campaigning, Murtha must be in trouble.

Canvassing in Pittsburgh with Westmoreland County Democrats? One would think that they would want to canvass their own county, not the knee jerk Democratic stronghold of Pittsburgh, where Osama Bin Laden would be elected mayor if he had a D next to his name...come to think of it, he does, doesn't he?

The only "outrage" I have seen on the whole issue of Murtha and his disgraceful treatment of Marines came when Jean Schmidt, a new Congresswoman from northern Cincinnati (who beta Marine corps Major Hackett) rose to quote a constituent Marine Bubp who said Marines don't cut and run. The Dems immediately went totally nuts, wanted her censured, Harold Ford ran across the chamber pointing his finger. A chorus yelled she should take it all back. Eventually she rose and took it back. No one that I know of, not ever Tom Delay who said he would, ever tried to censure Murtha for his disgusting behavior and treasonous words. Here is a depiction of the Jean Schmidt fiasco:

I'm not talking about the spineless politicians. I'm talking about the lack of outrage right here.

Absolutely right. "Remember the Alamo" is not as good a rallying cry as "Don't let Murtha trash Marines anymore from the Halls of Congress!"
Irey will win only if people register their justifiable anger.

FR is great for posting and reading angry posts. But ask folks to actually do something, and you might as well be a carrier of the bubonic plague.
Yes, some people here are absolutely amazing in the amount of support they provide to our troops and various political candidates. And I'm incredibly grateful for their efforts and presence. But they're a small minority.
My ol' tagline (FR = a lotta talk, but little action) really ticked off more than a few folks. I've yet to see a reason to withdraw that statement, though.
