Black Activist Ted Hayes to Address Laguna Beach City Council on How Illegal Immigration Hurts Blacks and Poor Americans City council meeting Tuesday, August 1st @ 6 pm
Ted Hayes, black activist and founder of Dome Village, as well as a proud member of the Minuteman Project, will speak directly to the Laguna Beach city council regarding their encouragement of illegal immigration through their support of a day labor site. He will speak in public comments at the city council meeting on Tuesday, August 1st at 6 pm. Laguna Beach City Hall is located at 505 Forest Ave.
Laguna Beach, one of the wealthiest communities in California uses the city's charity assistance budget in order to finance a day labor hiring center. They claim it is benefiting the city's residents by keeping the workers off the street and offering "cheap labor" for the residents and contractors who build multimillion dollar estates in the area.
The city funded day labor site has recently been discovered to be "squatting" on California State owned land. When Caltrans, who owns the property, ordered the operation to be removed the city of Laguna Beach entered into an agreement with them to lease the land in order to continue to run the day labor site on the property. The funds for the lease will be at the expense of the local taxpayers.
Mr. Hayes will speak on how illegal immigration has caused displacement and hardship on blacks and poor Americans, and will ask the Laguna Beach city council to use their community assistance funds for programs that benefit needy American citizens.
Ted Hayes is the founder of Dome Village and a well respected activist for black's rights. For more information on Ted and his work visit his websites:
