I agree.
"They lack the wit and intellect to recognize the stiletto."
As made obvious by the liberals ignoring the facts and only going after the "words".

It's that bad. However, in this instance, I put "Ann Coulter" in the search box and chose "order posts by time." 3 of this article came up. I swear that some have been deleted, though, or else posted under a different title.

Florence King has nothing to be jealous of and she's no wannabe. She's written several books in addition to the years of columns she's contributed at National Review. One of my favorite quotes from her (and I think I remember it exactly) is: "I was invited to address a convention of muff-diving Druids. I wrote them back and told them 'I think you should know I'm a Republican.' "
Years ago, she sued Molly Ivins for plagiarism and won easily.
Since her VERY FIRST SENTENCE in this column is a DEFENSE of Ann's remarks about the Jersey Widows, I don't understand why it's considered a skewering. Ann DOES use a sledgehammer instead of a stiletto. Why is it wrong to point that out?

>>Sometimes some of us here at FR just cannot accept differences of opinion.<<
And sometimes I understand that - if the question is "Do you support Kerry for President?" or "Do you support the country in time of war?" - there is only one conservative answer. (Different for those two questions, of course)
But on questions like "is a particular strategy the right way to advance conservatism?" This wouldn't be a very useful forum if we could not discuss and debate.

Florence King is a quite witty retired columnist who spent years skewing the Leftist for National Review. She is quite good for those with the wit to comprehend her humor. The sad truth is like Buchannan, W. Buckley et al of the old Conservative Guard the times have passed them by. Such a pity they simply cannot accept the current reality that their day is done.

Her hair turned quite gold from grief
I love that play and movie-"The Importance Of Being Earnest". I love the rich throaty plummy voice of the actress who plays "Gwendolyn" in the movie. They don't make aristocratic English voices like that anymore. That's from back when Britain was great.

Because, as it has been established above, Anne Coulter deals with the truth, and with the bubbling over hypocrisy of the left. She exposes them, lays them out naked so to speak. They hate her for that, especially considering her wide audience. She hurts them, so they try to hurt her. This article is just another hit piece, even if the author is right on a few (minor) points.

My experience is the opposite. I have a tremendous amount of respect for the intellect of both the left and the right.

One good sledgehammer is worth more than a thousand stilettos.

My experience is the opposite Education and Intellect are not the same thing. Leftist can be well educated but to be Leftist they invariable subordinate Intellectual ability to emotional whimsy.

I agree with the posters who pointed out that the left's (and middle and a large portion of right of center) lack the intellect forces Ann to be blunt.
I think Florence has fallen into the trap of basing her opinion on the MSM's superficial focus on Ann's more inflammatory statements. Just a couple days ago, when questioned live by Chrissy Matthews about her "Clinton is a latent homosexual" comment she said "he had the whiff of the bath house towel".
That's a turn of a phrase I think even Florence would approve.

The modern left is numbed with blind anti-semitism and an irrational hatred of the President of the United States.
No one on the left has a sense of humor anyway.

I think Ms.King writes in an echo chamber so she can hear her own wonderful wit more clearly.
It's a patrician kind of thing.

It's not a bad thing like you say. I don't like king or her work, and as I stated it is just MHO. Nothing to be concerned about, I just don't like her style and persona.
Ann is a fighter in the front line against libevil. She handles herself as a warrior, and there is nothing wrong in that either. I fully understand that some here don't like Ann or her style. That's fine too. Have a great weekend!
