CRAWFORD, Texas War protesters who return in August to President Bush's adopted hometown will have a new and bigger gathering place: a 5-acre lot bought with insurance money Cindy Sheehan received after her son was killed in Iraq.
Gerry Fonseca, a fellow war protester who acted as Sheehan's agent, said he recently bought the lot about a mile from downtown Crawford and about seven miles from Bush's ranch for $52,500. About half the land is pasture, the other half woods, he said. If Cindy Sheehan came to town, I don't think anybody would have sold her any property," Fonseca, of Eagle Rock, Mo., said Thursday.
Sheehan, of Berkeley, reinvigorated the antiwar movement last summer with vigils in ditches off the road to Bush's ranch. As the group grew, it also set up protests on a privately owned 1-acre lot closer to the ranch.

She took the money to buy property for the sole purpose of hounding Bush, instead of some kind of memorial for her son. Or a fund for soldiers families. I hope the seller can still back out..
Fonseca revealed the plans to his new next-door neighbor while seeking permission for electric lines to be strung 160 feet across the neighbor's property. Fonseca said the man initially agreed but then refused after others found out and became angry that the lot would be used as the new war protest site.
"I can understand why they were upset, but I didn't expect so much resistance," Fonseca said. "We are going to do everything we can to be good neighbors."
The lot is a tenth of a mile from a small "Welcome to Crawford" billboard featuring a picture of Bush, smiling with his hand in a thumbs-up sign, and his wife.
The land is comprised of about half pasture and half tree groves. Trucks began dumping gravel Friday for a driveway, and water lines will be installed next week. Fonseca said he is still trying to arrange for electricity to be hooked up, as well.
Although the site is more than 7 miles from Bush's ranch, it will have more space for the group's large activities tent, camping area and parking.
"This is close enough. We're still protesting in the community that he (Bush) chose to live in," Fonseca said.

Sheehan said that when the camp is no longer needed, she plans to donate the land to the city for a park to be named Spc. Casey Sheehan Memorial Peace Park. Sheehan said it would have a playground, because "Casey loved children and peace."

Who really cares?
We have real problems to be busy with.
Let's ignore this poor soul..or say a prayer for her and her dear son.
She also lied to get the land. Knowing a Crawford resident wouldn't sell land to Cindy Sheehan, she sent in one of her lackeys who posed as a displaced Katrina victim in order to get the sale.
Casey died, Cindy lied.
Good. Like the Palestinians on the Gaza strip, the hag has given herself a home and headquarters where she can be targeted by protesters. Works both ways.
"Although the site is more than 7 miles from Bush's ranch..."
Note to cindy: 7 miles? Good purchase, traitor. I'm sure the President will meet with you now. LOL.
You are so right!
Her hate will consume her!
I sincerely hope the good people of Crawford do what has needed to be done and give old Cindy a welcoming "blanket party".
Yep. It's what, like 110F in the shade, if you can find any, in Crawford, TX, this time of year? I say let this barking moonbat sweat out the summer there.....the Bush family has a nice place in Maine to vacation and Maine weather is really nice this time of year.....especially compared to Crawford, Texas....
Oh and also..Cindy you will always be know as the bitch in the ditch as far as I am concerned..You can move to the woods but you are the number one bitch in the ditch..
Or... somebody could buy the mineral rights and put oil rigs all over it... even if there is no oil...
