***Hezbollah has AGREED with a ceasefire, withdrawal from the border..and putting in a UN mulitnational force, working within the structure of the Lebanese Army***

The political and military wings of Hez aren't seperate entities, Sleuth, nor are they seperate from Iran. That's my understanding, anyway. So no matter which one accepted this, let's look carefully at what this says...

Ceasefire is simply a placeholder to avoid the real issues. There never should have been a conflict in the first place, but Hez started it and has been arming up and digging in for one for six years.

Leaving aside the outside force for the moment...look at this "working within the structure of the Lebanese Army". I heard someone say on Fox - can't say who - that there was a proposal to NOT DISARM Hezbollah but instead to ENFOLD THEM INTO THE LEBANESE ARMY. Not heard more since then, nor have I been able to listen much, so who knows the actual facts? But can you imagine...can you just imagine the stupidity of doing such a thing??? My mind boggles. I hope that is not true.

Regarding the "force"...no matter the makeup of the force or its stated mandate, if they don't go there for the understood purpose of seeing to it that Hez disarms...not just "pulls away from the border", then Hez really has little to lose by appearing to agree with the international force. Later on they can just about do what they want if they aren't forced to disarm and if they can continue to infiltrate weaponry from Syria and Iran. I think they plan to take over the entire country of Lebanon and call it a "people's mujahadeen" or some such, claiming that nearly everyone there supports them, (and anyone who doesn't will get blown up or a bullet in the head).

Then, of course, they could tell the multinational force to go to H___.

I think you make an important point about "folding" Hezbollah into the Lebanese army. My guess is that some of them are already there. The army controlled the radar on the coast that may well have allowed that Silkworm missle to hit the Israeli ship which would lead one to suspect that the army is already infected with this vermin. Bringing more of them in and then spend lots on beefing up their abilities may be a recipe for utter disaster.
