the only way to fight this war is to kill all the mullahs. the average moslem is OK. its those lazy mullahs that start the problems

What always strikes me about such pronouncements is the gap between militant Islam's ambitions and it's abilities; Islamic movements my indeed be able to repress their own populations for a generation or two, and it's conceivable (though IMO unlikely) that they will achieve political ascendancy, or at last a large degree of political and cultural autonomy, in a few European countries that were unwise enough to admit large numbers of Islamic immigrants.

But that's about the end of it: Islamic "Science", "Economics" and "Government" don't represent realistic competitors to the "Western" counterparts, and the rise of radical Islam is largely a reaction to the fact that (as in Iran at the moment) the appeal of Western Consumer culture to the young is an acid that constantly eats away at attempts to reimpose the values of 8th century tribal culture on populations with satellite dishes importing subversive images of "Western" life 24x7.

So it appears to me that Islamic Theocracy is just the latest in a string of attempts such as "Arab Socialism" to come to terms with "modernity".

And that for the next twenty years or so - until oil revenues start to level out and them decline, and such places as Iran and Saudi Arabia have to start looking to building economies and cultures based on something other than primary resource extraction - the entire area is going to be divided between poor countries struggling to reconcile 8t century Islam with 21st century requirements, and petroleum rich countries which may have a brief respite from having to do the same.

I learned this during the first Gulf War. A (former) family friend, a Muslim, looked right at me and said the Israelis were shooting missiles at their own people and blaming it on Iraq! I couldn't believe what my ears were hearing at first. I decided the guy was insane. It was scary as I had thought he was a pretty straight guy up until then.

I kind of wish (although the rest of the World would have went berzerk) that we had launched a "Decapitation Strike" at the assembledge of Iranian Mullahs and Political Leaders (Ahmedinejihad et al.) that gathered a few months back to make the annoucement of their purification of Uranium. A few well-placed JDams could have solved many problems in a few seconds. We may have to do this anyways, somewhere down the line.

Remember when the liberals were terrified that Ronald Reagan perhaps looked forward to Armageddon and may have wanted to do something to hasten it along?

Well, we all know now that was nonsense. We even knew it then, but that didn't stop a lot of crazy speculation.

Where are their voices now that it appears some madmen in Iran really do want to bring about the end of the world?

Well written and spot on.

The cabal of fanatical mullahs ruling Iran has lost its patience, not only with the unbelievers, but also with the Mahdi as well. They aim to force his arrival. This is the truth regarding Islam ... and it proves this is a religion fathered by a demon. To believe they (the Mullahs) can force the hand of the one who created the universe is to reduce God to a servant of the more powerful Mullahs. A demon would relish such irrational thinking, but God, the true God of Creation, is not so impotent nor does He desire such foolishness from believers. Sadly, Mulims are so brainwashed through rote worship, they will be unable to see this truth and reject this evil which is overpowering them through fostering their belief that they can make God serve their rewards based upon their 'righteous' behaviors in rote worship. Truly, we battle principalities and powers not of this world!

This is why Iran cannot be allowed to have nukes. But regime change is vital, because as I heard Newt Gingrich say the other day, "Iran is a 12-hour plane ride away [from North Korea] from having nuclear missiles."

the Zoroastrians are convinced that Saoshayant is the one who shall come, defeat the trouble-making Ahriman—Satan—and make the creatures again pure.

I did not know that. 8-)

Like Pinochet, he was a 'strongman' that brought a level of calm to his country and like Pinochet he was betrayed.

Yup. I remember it well. I hope the liberal whiners are happy now. But then I guess they've "moved on."

They will wake up as the sword falls to chop off their sniveling heads. Sadly, they will have served up our heads and the heads of millions of non-violent Muslims to reach that final moment. The democrat party has proven they will sacrifice millions in their empowerment schemes (abortion), so don't expect them to resist something they foolishly see as a means to their power being reinstated in defeating the current administration and Congress. The democrats are willing allies to this demonic movement, at this early juncture, thus they are a formidalbe obstacle to awakening the American people to the truth of this menace.

I still hold the faintest glimmers of hope that we can avoid an all out war against islam. I shudder to think what it would take for a nation first settled to ensure religious freedom to make war on a religion. I further shudder to think what it would do to such a nation.

I declare, Islamofascism must be destroyed!

the thinking of Iran’s ruling mullahs and their hand-picked president Mahmood Ahmadinejad.
Like Highlander -- There Can Be Only One. This "president" of Iran knows his head will roll when he fails (and he will fail). If he wants to continue in the job (IOW, continue to fail, continue to lead Iran to destruction) he'll have to eliminate or be eliminated.

Interesting point.

Yet, it makes perfect sense that an entity attacking such freedom would very likely be itself a religion (in this case a particularly virulent and violent one).

They're the voices that are saying that we should try to understand why the Islamonazis are so mad at us. Hopefully they'll be the first ones to go when the big flash goes off.

I don't give a flying pig's patoot why the slamizazes are mad at us. I just want them defeated the way we defeated the Nazis and militaristic Japanese sixty years ago.
