You are pretty slow for a friday tex.

The NG is under OPCON by the states. They are under TACON by the feds.

The feds/president ask to use the NG, a formality, to deploy to Iraq, an exercise, the border etc.

TACON (tactical control of an operational commander) takes over and they belong to the theater commander, not the state, not funded by the state.

The State does fund the NG if its a deployment above the one weekend a month 2 weeks a year deployment; Fires, Hurricanes, Emergencies in the state. Not on DoD funded missions.

What crack are you smoking Tex? You think Texas taxes pay for all the bases in Killeen, and San Antonio, San Angelo, Lubbock, Dallas and Corpus Cristi?

Why do Texans have all those arguments about funding schools then? They could close a few bases if they fund them all.

You are missing a few meds, im afraid.

How much of the $128,000 funded per deployed soldier is going to the soldier and how much is going to overhead?

What's the percentage, Tex?

Are the NG soldiers bivouacing or are they staying in hotels and commuting to work?

Tell me mr expert.
