You are pretty slow for a friday tex.

The NG is under OPCON by the states. They are under TACON by the feds.

The feds/president ask to use the NG, a formality, to deploy to Iraq, an exercise, the border etc.

TACON (tactical control of an operational commander) takes over and they belong to the theater commander, not the state, not funded by the state.

The State does fund the NG if its a deployment above the one weekend a month 2 weeks a year deployment; Fires, Hurricanes, Emergencies in the state. Not on DoD funded missions.

What crack are you smoking Tex? You think Texas taxes pay for all the bases in Killeen, and San Antonio, San Angelo, Lubbock, Dallas and Corpus Cristi?

Why do Texans have all those arguments about funding schools then? They could close a few bases if they fund them all.

You are missing a few meds, im afraid.

Here -

Asked how she'll approach the immigration issue while campaigning, Napolitano said she'll continue to call for border enforcement, employer sanctions _ "we've had no interior enforcement to speak of" _ and a guest worker program as part of comprehensive federal action.

Napolitano has said she'd expand the National Guard's existing role on the border if the GOP-led Legislature provides funding, and she said she vetoed the trespassing bill because it was unconstitutional and an unfunded mandate on local law enforcement.
