The first thing a Minuteman has to learn is to keep his powder dry. The bigger the powder magazine, the bigger the risk of getting it all wet.
This is the lesson that Chris Simcox, the president of the volunteers on the border, who have almost single-handedly aroused the nation's conscience about the tide of illegal immigration, seems to have missed in basic training.
The "powder" is the hundreds of thousands of dollars that Americans have contributed to the Minutemen, who have been exceedingly helpful to the U.S. Border Patrol. The careful, rigorous reporting of Jerry Seper in The Washington Times reveals that the Minutemen management has not made its records of fundraising and finances public in more than a year, raising the hackles and suspicions of several top Simcox aides. Some of them have resigned, protesting the loose management of the money...."[snip]

I haven't even filed my 2005 taxes yet. I have til August 15th. You sure are fast to condemn anyone trying to cure the illegal alien problem. What is it that you have to gain by the destruction of our immigration laws?

No I am quick to condemn con-artists and there are a lot of heavy hitters on the right that are asking tough questions. Hey whatever floats your boat, send Simcox a great big fat check. He is probably needing it right now.
I would think that if you were on "the right", you would be spending some energy trying to stop illegal immigration, not trying to stop those who are trying to stop illegal immigration.

After reading many of your countless posts around here, I still can't figure what you are pushing. It seems you are not for anything that would put a halt to illegal immigration. That means you must be gaining from it?
First off, this is a leftest article and all the conservatives are jumping for joy around here to sink this guy. Has he had his day in court yet? Has he filed yet? What is the date he has to file?
Several years ago, my little sister saw a beggar on a corner. He was skinny, dirty, and had a ragged dog with him. He had a cardboard sign that said "Need food." Not "will work for food", just "need food." My sister and her friend drove to a burger place and bought burgers, fries, and a coke for the man and his dog. They also had an extra water bottle for the dog. When they returned with the food and gave it to the man, he angrily threw the burgers at them. He asked them if they were stupid, didn't they know that he just wanted the CASH?
Since reading these threads, I just can't get that story out of my head.
The Pence plan is no better than the Senate plan! We have had this discussion before. Since we don't enfore our present immigration laws, how are we expected to enfore the Pence proposal? Everyone is overwhelmed now. Until we have zero tolerance for illegal immigration, these amnesty plans will not go forward.
Tell me, is Michele Malkin now a lefty, as well? She is investigating/writing about Simcox too.
Is EVERYONE who wants an answer to the mess Simcox has made, a "LEFTY", as well?
He is on his second extension, but don't hold your breath....I doubt that he'll make the Nov. 15th due date either.
And FWIW, Simcox and his band of merry volunteers have done NOTHING whatsoever to impede illegals getting across our borders; NOTHING!
