An update: Couldn't find anything definitive on Google saying McCain opposes Haynes. I called his D.C. office. They're gone for the day. His Arizona office didn't know. I'll try D.C. again tomorrow and report back.

If we get McCain, it will be our own fault, but even that idiot would be a step better than Hitlery. Still, I can imagine a lot of conservative voters staying home or voting third party in that case, which makes Hitlery even more likely, and I sure as heck don't want to have to wake up to another 4 or 8 years of "President Clinton".
well put.

I've read for weeks that Graham was blocking Haynes...today was the first I'd heard that McCain was as well. So, not sure if McCain is behind Graham's opposition.

I just know that I will not vote for him. And I know a good many people who feel the same way. If that gets Hillary elected, so be it.

Please tell me the '08 DNC convention will be held before the RNC's.

That way when Hill is NOT chosen as the Dem candidate, the Hillariphobes will calm down and the Republicans can pick someone who won't completely destroy the party as the nominee.

Why do you think Hillary will get the nomination?

And if she doesn't, are you still for McCain?

THe ONLY way Hillary will get elected is to run against McCain.

It is VERY apparent you do not know John McCain or absolutely nothing about him. I knew him when I lived in AZ. I heard him at many T & T dinners. He is crazy. He would be much more dangerous than Hillary. I am sure we could survive Hillary, I am equally sure we could not survive McCrazy.

I believe the usual form is that the party in power (ie the presidency) gets to go after the other party although there is always much negotiating with host cities, etc.

I know that, you know that, and the main stream media knows that. That is the reason that they champion Mc Cain each chance they get.

I would hope that the Republican National Committee knows that.

McCain should have stayed in Hanoi.

McCain should have stayed in Hanoi.

The Cong no longer needed him after he gave them all the information they wanted, and they could no longer afford to feed him.

I live in Arizona and MikeA is absolutely correct. The man is not just a RINO, but dangerous to the country, he'd doing enough damage in the Senate.

Just remember though - its not the GOP that nominates him, its the primary voters.

I beg to differ. McCain's strategy is to get Democrat support in "Open Primary" states to get the nomination. That's one reason he's so upset that the state of Michigan is trying to change their primary back to a closed one. He can't win without Democrat support.
