Sen. Orin Hatch is one who has been advocating that foreign born should be allowed to run for the US presidency and foreigners should be allowed to vote in US elections. And he is only one of several.
IIRC, he is a Republican.
Some of the more stupid ideas/plans about dealing with illegals are coming from the Republican side of the aisles (both Chambers) and White House.
