I talked with the former GOP chair about Lindsey just last week and while complaining about him, she said he has a 93% (or thereabouts) rating as a conservative.

So while he talks like a lib, he must vote more like a conservative than I gave him credit for.

Actually that's pretty smart -- if cynical -- strategery. Talk like a lib to please those folks (the ones that go more for form than substance), and vote conservative. If a legislator votes how I would vote he or she could sound like Lenin or Nader or Buchanan for all I would care.
