Pluto thought to be warming up

Astronomers at the University of Tasmania have found that the solar system's smallest planet is not getting colder as first thought and it probably does not have rings.
Dr John Greenhill has collected observations from last month's event when Pluto passed in front of a bright star, making it easier to study.
French scientists have shared the measurements they took in Tasmania that night, which indicate that the planet is unlikely to have rings.
Dr Greenhill says the results are surprising because they show Pluto is warming up.
"It looks as though the atmosphere has not changed from 2002, which is pretty surprising because we expected the atmosphere would freeze out as the planet moved further away from the Sun," he said.
"But so far, if anything, the atmosphere has gotten even denser."

It takes roughly 5.5 hours for light to travel from the sun to Pluto. Slower moving matter from the sun all depends on the speed of the matter.

i think we need to know how fast it takes for the sun rays to travel from earth to pluto Nope. Timeframe for that factiod is irrelevent since the speed of light is 186,282.397 miles per second

That Karl Rove is an evil genius.
He's arranged for an American outpost on Pluto without telling anybody, and is ruining the planet.
Fess up, Karl.

The "Warmists" (it's a religion) are gooing to have a tough time explaining this.

All kidding aside, this will be interesting to see what unfolds over time.

What? You think Pluto is so far out it takes hundreds of years for light to reach it? Eight min. to earth. Try a few days. I think it is around 40 hours.

Global warming just became Solar System warning... Galactic warming will no doubt follow. And it will STILL be George Bush's fault.

One thing's for sure. It would take a mighty long time for greenhouse gasses to seep from the earth and waft all the way to Pluto.

What problem?
Earth is 8 minutes from the sun. Pluto a bit further depending on where in its highly elliptical orbit it is in. Figure maybe 45-60 minutes on average.
Bigger impact is how far out Pluto is: there is very little solar radiation that far out, so a change in the sun's output _ which many assume may be causing earth's 1/2 of ONE degree possible warming - will also change Pluto's warmth.
Not by much, but by some.
